i'll put up some pictures when i get some time at lunch today and hopefully that helps you out. my whole goal is to have as little impact on the trunk space as possible and to keep everything tucked away which i felt i did pretty well. my last ditch effort to fix the hissing/static would be to take it to a really high end shop near me, but they charge 150/hr. maybe i'll have them just look at it and see if there's anything they can think of. it's really the only downside but can't be noticed once i take the volume up...but i know it's there and i'm ocd haha
Thanks Dav, pictures would be great.. I had kind of forgotten about wanting it under the seat, but I figure if I'm going to do any of this, I may as well do all of it and be done with it finally. Did the seat need to come out in order to get everything nicely under there, or were you able to do it with the seat installed?

i was able to do it with the seat installed, but i had to unbolt the 4 bolts and tilt it back against the rear seat. it angles just enough to allow you to get in there and install items. mine is just velcroed to the carpet and it works fine, no chance of it moving.

Good to know, and mind is velcroed as well to the trunk carpet, so I would just do the same under the seat.

so not a good update but it's an update nonetheless. first time my lowered car has ever been towed and i was super stressed but the guy did a great job getting it on the flat bed. i was driving home late last night and my navi started flickering, then all my dash lights came on, then code P0562 low charging voltage, then all my dash dials went to 0 (tach, speedometer, gas), then my dash went completely black, then my headlights flickered and went out, and then finally my car lost all power and i coasted/rolled into a turn lane. i tried making it home since i was less than a mile from home but i should have just pulled over right away. i'm very lucky i wasn't rear ended at night with no lights on (not even flashers) and that there was a turn lane i could turn into.

got it towed last night to a good acura shop and will see how much the financial damage is today. i would do it on my own but it being the start of the work week and this is my daily, i'll just have the shop take care of it. lesson learned...if you get the same symptoms pull over before you lose total power! i'm hoping this is a $500 job at the most.

later today i'll post the audio updates i promised kurt! need something positive!

Damn man, sucks to see. Sounds like the same issue that happened to me a while back and it was just a corroded positive battery cable. Here's a pic of when it happened:

Luckily I had an aftermarket terminal lying around and just put that right on. It should be a fairly simple fix for a DIYer like yourself!!!

wow that is so bad!!! mine doesn't have any corrosion so i'm pretty sure it's the alternator. so you only had to get a new battery cable? lucky! i'm still waiting to hear from the shop. how did you let the battery cable get that bad haha

just got the quote from the shop it will be 415 parts and labor, they use a reman denso alternator (manufacturer of original)...they said there's a 2 year warranty on it and they haven't seen any issues with them for time periods longer than that. i know i can get a new limited lifetime warranty alternator from rockauto but like i said before i just don't have the time. i need this item done today.

they said they are trying to bring my battery back to life but think i may need a new battery too, which i'll get from costco.

i also have my tein edfc going too haha but in all seriousness those are low draws, they are all well within the capacity of the alternator. the shop said they've seen failures of the alternator at about the same time period (7-10 years)

yeah lucky for me it wasn't the alt..

it didn't help that i was/am traveling a lot so it just sat in the garage for a while. also i think the battery post was leaking . It was all types of bad.

always a good feeling to get a car back from the shop.

now check for scratches!!
when ever I get mine back, it never fails to have scratches... it's ALWAYS ALWAYS from some one dragging a box(or something) across the hood or trunk.

been designing and planning this outside of the car for the last few months, and finally got it installed last week. here's just a teaser, i'll be putting up more details here and writing a new DIY as well, plus i made other videos along the install to try to help as many people as possible since i've seen so many questions out there about the install. so worth it, gives the TL interior a fresh new look!! at the bottom is a video of the final install.

i'll answer some basic questions here but please wait for really detailed questions so that i can answer them in the DIY thread i'm putting together. i don't want to dilute this thread too much, but promise i'll answer any and all questions in the DIY thread!!

feel free to send me a PM with any super detailed questions!

2013 nexus 7
- new reverse camera (replaced oem camera).
- sound routed through DAC to oem aux jack
- OBDII adapter hardwired into car's igntion and permanently installed behind dash

installed into oem bezel (most labor intensive part):

I did the Nexus 7 tablet mod in my old truck before I sold it.

Wasn't too bad at all, loved having a tablet in my dash.

I just read through this whole thread and am In love! I didn't realize we had the same caliper color, I'm pretty sure its the same.
Aspec kit was a really good move man, looks amazing. Do you recommend me getting that RV6 strut bar? Or whatever its called.

Loving it man, hope to see more coming soon :P

you only need an rv6 strut bar if you want to continuously change the dampening on your front shocks or are running EDFC
