skd2k1's '07 Type-S progress - Updated 2/8/18

Added some led drls that stay on with the headlights and deleted the front parking lights. drls are 5500k, headlights are stock, and fogs are 3000k. Thanks to vladkarnafel for the DIY on this, which can be found here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/07-08-drl-headlights-836519/

And here are the pics, enjoy:

It only took like 3 1/2 years to make a led drl bulb that would work properly with our cars. At first I wanted the bright white drl's but after several bulb failures I gave up and went hyper yellow. No regrets.

Yours btw look sweet. Matches very well.

Thanks, my fogs are yellow, but I wanted the drl's to match my headlights.

Thanks dude! Yeah it doesn't really seem like such a complicated mod. Hopefully the bulbs don't fail!

Wow, they look awesome. What LED kit or bulbs are they?

Also, do you have any pics of your yellow fogs? I have the nokya 7k bulbs on the fogs and IMO they don't match the stock hid and look too purple and kinda cheap. I was thinking of going with yellow fogs.

Thanks! They're not too bright, you can tell that they are on but they're not blinding to oncoming traffic.

Thanks dude! If you have 5000k color halogens in your drl's they will still appear yellow because the drl bulbs are only running at partial power not at 100%. You have to use led's to get a different color in the drl.

Looks Great! I wonder how that would look with some switchbacks, pretty much just have a strip of light for your headlights having all three lights on.

Thanks dude, I thought about going with switchbacks but I think it looks cleaner with no parking lights.

I would like to swap the turn signals out for amber leds, but someone on here was saying that you can't delete the parking light on an led because it will give you the "super fast blink." Not sure though.

Thank you sir, next mods will be suspension and a-spec sides/rear. That is the "home depot" lip under the a-spec spoiler.

It has actually really helped to protect my a-spec lip, but I will probably ditch that in favor of some carbon fiber splitters in the near future.

Here are some more shots my girlfriend did for me. The heads, fogs and drl's appear to be almost the same color in these pics, in reality the drl's are whiter than the headlights, and the headlights are whiter than the fogs.

The tinted windshield helps too! Got mine done today for a more clean look. I have the box downstairs but I think I bought the JDMtoy 120 SM LEDs. Will post pics next week when I have them on and have the car washed....it's raining here all week.

I'm pretty sure you won't want this guy's bulbs....only due to the fact that the post is 2 years old and there are probably better bulbs out by now.

I have iJDMTOY DRLs and have been very happy with them. Whole kit is about $60 I think. Here is the DIY thread by The Machine, very easy to do following this: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/ijdmtoy-led-drl-harness-install-w-pics-853543/

originally I had some 128smd 5k I bought from ebay (the ones in the pics), but those were weak sauce. I upgraded to these from vled:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/fog-l...45-1-pair.html

much much better bulbs!

Hello Im new to the forums..

That came out looking real nice man!

1 question: How did you delete the parking lights? just cutting the wire and plugging them? since that corner light has 3 wires 1 for ground 1 for steady on power and 1 for signal correct?

thanks dude and welcome to the forum!

I actually just put a piece of electrical tape over the parking light connector on the bulb itself. no cutting wires necessary. there's only two connectors on there, so it's either one or the other. easy process of elimination. only downside is that when you lock the car the front signals don't flash.

here's a pic with the new drls:

hey man your setup looks killer on NBP! i want to keep my DRLs on 100% of the time but i am completely helpless when it comes to understanding wiring and stuff... I want to retain the yellow light so I won't be replacing the bulb or anything. Can you please explain to me a simple way to do this since I'm not using led's?
