Same here about not having the time. I need to get a hold of some RTV and Black paint soon, that's all that is preventing me from doing it.

If your talking about the factory oem black brembos then you don't need to paint anything. But if you repainted your brembos it would be the same process to do these.

Exactly, I just hadn't seen any painted RDX covers yet and wondered if anyone had done it yet.

I will be doing it... I am painting mine the same color as my engine cover (see avatar)

Duplicolor TORQUE N' TEAL

The whole idea came from the PROJECT Mu theme from Japan. I don't have BREMBO on my BASE TL so I figured the RDX covers painted and re-ACURA labeled should give a nice poppin style and added performance look over stock. lol ...at least that is the plan as of now. But as we all know, things can change.

Got mine today...just needed the rears...and also spray painted the uncovered portion of the calipers a gloss black. Took maybe 2 hrs with a lot of that time waiting for drying and semi-RTV curing.

Pix:

My tools:

Scraped the caliper with a wire brush to clean off dirt/grime/dust:

Test fit:

Paint:

Apply RTV and affix...secure with masking tape

Done...you can touch up areas that show with a thin paint brush and paint them black

Area on caliper where I applied the RTV:

Assorted pix of finished project:

Just a quick comment on the pic where I show where I applied RTV. I later removed the RTV from the middle section because that's where the caliper swings open. Sooooo do not apply RTV to that small area. .... Follow op in original post.

Careful applying RTV to the actual caliper, you would hate to try and take it off on your next brake pad change.

No it would not. I have the covers installed and had to swap out defective pads for new ones and had no issues.
