Hey guys just wanted to post a little "progress" thread about my car.. That is still stock.. i bought my first car 8 months ago. I have an 05 TL SSM automatic TL, Non navi with gray interior. It had a couple hundred miles over 100k and in almost perfect condition.

In the 8 months of ownership I have only done:

Changed out the fog lights to Blue HID's (forgot the actual temperature of them)

Plastic dipped the grill, rims, and rear Acura badge black.

Tinted her 35% in the front and 20% in the back (was already stopped before in my moms car for tinted windows)

Put LEDs in the interior, license plate and reverse lights

I also did the mid-muffler delete or stage 1 exhaust as how they call it

and a week ago I bought 4 new BFGoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S tires.
Even though it isn't considered a mod I want to put that in here since I really like them the milestars it had were shit and looked like they were nascar tires :o

The only things I have planned that will be happening soon are:

-The A-spec front lip for it just looking where to buy it
-The trunk and window roof lip, also looking where
-And I want to vynil wrap the roof black
-And RIMSSSSS I'm debating between varrstoens es2 or niche Targas
-AND since I knowwwww if I want that flush look I have to drop it I'm thinking of getting springs or coilovers
But the thing about dropping it is that I want to do a REALLY conservative drop since I still want a kind of nice ride since I drive it every day. Idc if it's not completely flush but as long as it's close I've seen a thread somewhere about conservative drops but I forgot.
Does anyone have tanabe springs .? It drops it about an inch and that's what I think I would want to go with .

But other than that after 8 months I still love my TL, only thing I hate is how bad both my front seats ripped it just makes the interior look ugly but feedback would really be appreciated since this is my first post

Also want to mention that she's at 112k now

Have you done the timing belt service yet? That would be a good start.

As far as a conservative drop, you could go with a mild spring (Tein H-tech) on a set of Koni shocks. There is a thread in the tire/wheel section on the H-tech's paired with KYB shocks. I have no idea of how KYB shocks are, but the Koni sports have some perch settings, that will allow a lil more of a drop (if you ever choose to), and dampening adjustment.

There are plenty of threads on Azine regarding Koni's and various spring setup's. You could also pair your stock springs with the Koni's and lower it ~3/4" (I believe). There is so much information on this site, you just have to search (Google-with "on Acurazine") at the end of your question.

Good Luck!

Full A-spec kit
Remove door guards
Remove the plasti-dip from the wheels (Black wheels, are way over done)
Remove the blue bulbs in the fog lights (they don't benefit you, other than color)
Coils or lowering springs with new shocks and top hats

Maintenance over mods 1st.

You can follow this build thread. https://acurazine.com/forums/photogr...thread-939246/

Hi welcome.

Blue HID's definitely not my cup of tea.

Keep your transmission happy by properly maintaining it and this baby should last you quite a while

For the timing belt should I just go to an Acura dealer? Because I've been wanting to do the timing belt, tranny fluid and water pump but Im like a noob to the car world so yeah .-. Lol I've went to get her oil changed twice in my ownership, at 105k and 110k at a local shop.

And thanks on the info for the springs and stuff. Will definitely research on those

And thanks for the welcome, really excited to finally be interacting here not just looking

Even though I kind of liked the door guards, you can kind of notice that one is falling off a bit so I might take them off :/
Plasti dip will be staying since I'm eventually getting rims

Thank you and I know... Tbh I didn't like them at all at first. I wanted for a white color that would kind of match the originals but one of my uncle gifted them to me and they've grown on me

btdubs... blue lights in front are also illegal in CA.. so be careful!

door side molding just makes the car bulk and detracts from the already sexy lines of the un-aging 3G body..

Yeah

it was cool when i was in HS too but i would take them off or just not have them on for now.. not worth the money for the fine.. That money could be spent modding instead

Yeah, Bruce is a good guy, I have purchased lighting, roof spoiler and just ordered my A-spec kit through him. Haven't had any issues with Endless.

Ok, so two things happened during March that set me back a bit. First of all, because of a small accident my cars front driver side looks like this now

And on Easter, on a trip to Santa Cruz my fromt drivers side axle broke so that costed me about 500 .-. So I'm holding off on the lip for a bit longer.
But a good thing is that yesterday changed oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid so right now she's doing pretty good. (115k)

Back just yesterday I changed out all 4 rotors and pads for some EBC ones. My braking was really shaky on highway speeds and my back ones would screech a lot so it was time. Anyone else have those on their tl?? Here's a pic of the ones I bought

Hate to break it to ya, Timing belt will run you about $700-$1000 from and independent shop or $1000+ at a dealer. This needs to be done though! Hope you got that body work fixed, ouch!

Quick update, tried to do the black vynil roof a few days ago.. And I'm just gunna say this, it looked good but I know we can do a better job so we're gunna have another go at it in a few weeks

Sorry for the iPhone pics btw

What I did do though is put the roof lip

And just this Tuesday my passenger side axle broke ... Lmao my luck . But I asked the shop how much would they charge for the timing belt and water pump and they quoted me for around $600. So should be doing it by the end of this month I know I've been lagging

Yeah bad driving.. from the other driver she was coming from the opposite direction trying to get into a 7-11 on my side. I was on the right lane with no cars in front of me, and the left lane was with traffic stopped waiting for a red light. So I guess someone made space for her on the left lane and she just went for it instead of yielding to my lane (she herself said I didn't see you..).. it could've been way worse because of the so little time I had to react so I'm just happy they're going to pay me for it and it's JUST the bumper nothing else

I know, time to look for a whole new bumper.. help me please I found one online but it has foglight holes and doesn't have the Acura letters in the middle :/ I have no laptop so if you guys can help me it would be great
