I have duplicolor on the grille.

My front bumper is fairly shredded due to 295 construction.

The grille is not.

Don't bother trying to paint the satin parts, even with sanding and a self-etching primer, rattle can will still not stick properly, wrap those parts or have them professionally painted.

Prep work was standard fare: Sand, prime, paint, clear, cure, wetsand, polish.

Anyone wanna paint or vinyl my grill and trim? I'm looking to get it done gloss black/nbp. Obviously your time would be compensated as well. Let me know I'm in Central Jersey.

went to a paint shop today and they told me that if i painted that chrome strip on the lower part of the grille, it would start chipping immediately. any feedback or suggestions? im trying to have a nbp grille done... or do it myself

They all say that. It's becuase of the material it is. Mine said that, I had them do it anyways, and when I picked it up there was a '09 TL getting the big tooth painted. He told me they had done about half a dozen of those and not one complaint.

If they prep right and use good stuff, chipping will be minimal. You can always clear bra the grille too if you're worried.

Get it done professionally.

^^^ I concur. Get it done professionally. Proper paint prep is key for something like this.

I would have the trim parts removed, and painted. Then let the parts fully cure for a few weeks off the car. Apply the clear bra at that point. But a small rock/pebble is going to pit or chip any part no matter what.

Yea, i used plasti-dip. Its holding up really well, just make sure you do a good amount of even coats.

Painted mine a few years back, NBP rattle can spray and for the emblem I used duplicolor metal cast, some type of bronze, I believe. Looked great for a month, or so, but started chipping right away...specially the emblem. Then the NBP grill pieces began to get hair-line cracks also... now I decided to carbon fiber wrap it;

It was a PITA, specially since this is my first time using vinyl wrap, but WELL WORTH IT. I left the center bar as is, painted NBP, since it doesnt look bad even with the hairline cracks.

the emblem does look a tad small. Still looks really clean though. Id like to do that exact combo but go black acura lettering instead.

It looks like that is the emblem from the engine cover. That one is a tad smaller than the original one on the front.
