BrettKA7's Moroccan Red Pearl update thread (PIC HEAVY)
The past few months have been filled with progress and setbacks. As some may know, I’m a big fan of keeping things "upgraded OEM"
Poor quality pics from the day I took the car home:
Next was a headlight restoration to remove the badly peeling clear coat
After
Then paint correction
Before:
After:
Interior cleaning:
Sunset after:
3x3 drain and refill
Re-padded arm rest with pillow material
Unfortunately, a leatherique treatment revealed the prior repairs on my seats that I suspected. They continued to rip to shreds after this pic:
So I got some Iggee seat covers for the time being. They conformed to the seat after sitting in them for a bit.
Then, disaster struck.
I parked in Venice Beach to watch the filming of American Ninja Warrior and came out to find this!
A few days later, my power steering pump bit the dust.
Thankfully bad things come in threes (seats, PS pump, fender). Now for repairs!
Waiting for fender repair:
Done.
Seatbelt cleaning
License plate for the lolz as I waited for my new plates
Random: this was a period of four days:
Pilot Super Sports + off-car wheel cleaning
Clay your wheels!
Rear brake pads
Tint:
Attempted reconditioning of plastic chrome hood trim
And my controversial stock exhaust tips. Here is how they looked when I got the car (photo taken by russet potato):
Cleaned up the outsides quickly, but the insides still looked bad. Decided to remove the black paint:
Not pictured: mid-muffler delete, transmission pressure switches changed, scratched window replaced. Next up is transmission mounts and compliance bushings. Thanks for looking!
