Exhaust manifold is different.

The j32a2 from the 2nd gen use headers.

The j32a3 from the 3rd gen, the heads are cast in the block

So, yes... Doable if you change out exhaust too



But why?

What if the motor you bought from JY is AT and you have MT ?

that's exactly what I did.

I have a six speed TL and bought an 05 automatic J32a3 engine with 100k miles +

the only thing that is different from the autos and manuals, is that the autos have extra cooling lines for the transmission. Just have your mechanic plug those lines up.


I used car-part.com to source an engine that was close in location to me. even then, when I showed up to the junk yard, there was more than five J32s and a couple J35 engines available for my picking! I chose the one that visually looked the best. junk yard gave me warranty on engine...something like 60 or 90 days. but my mechanic installed the engine flawlessly. and fires right up just like my original engine
