Last race of the year. So tired of running fucking 14 second passes. Went up against a 2015 WRX 6 speed with exhaust and tune.

Guess I've reached my limits...13.8 is likely as good as it's gonna get

See, this is what I was talking about! You beat a slightly modded newer model WRX, which is no insignificant feat in an automatic TL. Who cares what the ET was. It's like last week when a 2012 ish Audi A6 3.0T came flying out into the expressway and passed me. I let him go. We caught a couple closely spaced red lights and on the second light, I knew he was going to go. There was nothing but wide open tarmac in the distance; not a single taillight in our sights. After the light turned green, I eased out but held first and sure enough, he nailed it around 20 mph, and his Quattro didn't argue. My FWD and summer tires however, in 40 degree temps laughed at me as I fought for traction. He jumped out to where his rear bumper was aligned with my front bumper, but once I got into second, I started to reel him in. By 65-70, we were side by side and by 100 I had half a car on him. He fell back in, flashed me and took the next exit. I looked up what those A6's run and saw 13.7 @ 102. He probably never saw it coming, and that's what makes having a quicker than average TL a lot of fun. Especially since I added the Flashpro, I've left more than a few guys wondering WTF just happened.

I wish they would hurry the fuck up and make flash pro for the 04-06 autos already. I heard a rumor that K Tuner is working on something though? Any truth to that?

It was only a rumor? Fuck man. I guess all one could do is swap the 07-08 ECU and auto trans into the 04-06 if they wanted it that bad which is a royal waste of fucking money on all counts.

no man.
I'm suspecting you read the other thread where ANX suggested Ktuner.
Or you read about Ktuner coming.

so then you ask in this thread about ktuner.
the only thing is, WE DONT KNOW WHEN THE FUCK ITS COMING.

so, this is the part where you get on the phone and call Ktuner and ask.

i've talked to k-tuner because i heard someone had an auto 05 and was running it...this was their response back in august:

me: I don't have an 04-06 AT, but do you ever see there being a solution for that car type?
ktuner email: We’ve flashed that ECU. I imagine some day we may release something for it.

CALL K-TUNER!!!

Are you selling all the stuff you're pulling out so you can pay for things like the cracked windshield? I'm sure someone needs a passenger seat.

Yeah now it's very noticeable from the front that it's gutted since one of the seats are removed

My point was, your car is better set up for this and the numbers are pretty close.
I guess on one hand I'm saying to stop playing the numbers game since he can't afford it, on the other hand I guess I kinda proved his point too

You should probably start some sort of blog about the beating you're putting on that "fragile" TL automatic transmission to document the abuse it CAN take.
I wonder if the weight reduction is what's giving you the longevity in it.

Well I've never used anything but OEM trans fluid in the car which is where I think a lot of people fuck up. I'm sure being as light as I am helps too

Your fourth gear would hurt you up top but honestly, I think you have a better chance from a dig. Your 60' are better than mine. It's pointless comparing numbers from track to track, and on different days, but I'd love to see what you could do with my car. I figure it's a little over 3300 lbs now, so if yours is 3000, subtract another 100 for the manual. No doubt it would trap 107 mph at 2900 lbs. On drag radials, I could see 13.10's-13.20's. That's getting pretty stout. I'd cry to see it gutted though.

4th is a lot more serviceable with the weight removed now. I don't know how I lived with 4th when it was stock lol

Get some dry ice and start taking some of the sound deadening material out. Start removing some of the wiring harness that isn't needed, Take the power windows out of the rears. I don't think this car is ever going back to stock.

Have you considered autoxing this car? Pressing a the right pedal down for 14ish seconds at a time, while entertaining, isn't nearly as fun as autox to me, fast driver vs. fast car mentality. It's more entertaining being quicker than a guy with a faster/ better car in a "slow car". Mad respect for drag racing/racers, but a race track or autox course is where it's at IMO.

Can I keep the window stationary in the rear if I remove the power window motors?

remove glass AND motor and install plexiglass.. that's easily 20 pounds each window saved.
