of nitrous I want would send my car into warp speed but at the expense of long term reliability possibly.

Try the camshaft first. Might be worth it if you want to keep it reliable. nothing beats OEM quality parts 
Nitrous is good if you don't go overboard. That 20 shot turns into a 50, to a 75, then 100, and then BOOM there goes the motor. lol
