My subscription was up on Feb 3rd, so I called to see if I could get the same $65 dollar rate again. When I told them I was cancelling, they offered $50 off($115/yr). I declined, they then offered a 1/2 price rate($82.45/yr). I said no, I will only renew for my last years rate. She told me they couldn't do that, so I said no thanks.

This week I got the following email if anyone is interested. I'm tired of fooling around with rates and am not going to renew, but maybe someone else can use it. They still haven't turned my XM off in the car, but I've quit listening to it anyway. I'm thru with XM.

My initial tryal expired so i called and Quote Promo:
XM-PVK13HJU the girl that answered said she couldnt find that promotion, but before i could say anything else she asked if it was the $3.99 offer i was looking for so i followed her lead and said yes, since i was only looking for a 6 month service. she offered me $13.52 for 3 months * 2
Total $27.06 cdn for 6 months of service so i jumped on it.

Radio is back up working, no I'll be watching to see if they try charging me more than whet we agreed To...

FYI.

My trial XM membership is expiring April 26th.

I called them directly and told them i'd like to consider cancelling as i'm finding the prices quoted too high for a service that I enjoy from time to time. I also told them that the consistent service disruptions in certain areas of the downtown Vancouver area are quite irritating.

So they offered me 2 choices:

1. One Year XM for $96.18 + tax.

2. 3months locked in at $14.97+tax. ($4.99 a month)

Also, she mentioned that after the 3months i'd have to pay FULL rate of $44.97 BUT if i called them BEFORE expiration, they could offer the same $14.99 deal once more! so in the end, it looks like i'm getting 6months for $30cdn. I booked a reminder in my iphone AND car navi calendar to remind me of the july expiration so i can be sure to call them !!!

so there ya go Canadians..go nuts and GO CANUCKS!

My renewal is up tomorrow. I called them to see what kinda deals they can offer as I had paid $82 CAD tax in last year. The best they could do is $106....so I declined.

We'll see if I get a call back or e-mail with an offer....

Hi, I am a new member, I have a 2006 ACURA TL w. navigation. I bought this car 3 months ago and signed up for XM monthly at 14.95. Today I called to cancel and at first they offered me 3 months free, I asked about the $77 dollar promotion and the guy said SURE, we can give you that, no code needed anything... at first I agreed thinking it wasn't going to work but it went through, they charged me 80.88 with taxes for service until July 1 2010.

You should call today and cancel or ask about this promotion, there's no code, but hurry since the new royalty fees will kick in next month, good time to lock in a good rate at least for the next year.

Thanks!!

Hect0rr from Houston TX.

Called to cancel my XM subscription today and they instantly offered me the $4.99 / month for 3 or 6 months deal. I went for 6 months at that rate. Hope they have some more good deals come Boxing Day!

well mine expired late last oct and they called me with some bogus 149 offer for the year.. i said no way and told them why is it that the USA gets an offer of 77 per year and we dont.. they didn't do much about it.. in the end i settled for 95 for the year so with taxes came to 107. i'm fine with that as i listen to xm quite a bit now.

Just did it.

Just renewed again, saw they charged my card the 34 and change again was like $#ck. So i called up and basically went straight to cancellation Dept. they offered the $20 deal for 5 month, But i did not want to forget and cancel again i 5 months so i asked for a year and offered the 77 deal. I said I'll take it. So i asked what about my 34.94 she said it will be added to my new total. So she gave me a new total of 83.69 plus my 34.94 they already gotten for a total of 118.63. I did add the NAV Traffic also. So that means I got the 77 for the XM, 41.63 for the year of NAV (3.46 Month). Not bad I guess for about 15 Min. of my time.

Forgot to mention I did the remainder on a prepaid Credit Card. That way they wont charge me at regular price again.

Still works. I called and said that it was too expensive and I have been with XM for 5 years and the CSR says, since you have been with us for that long I can give you the 1/2 off rate which is $77 dollars for XM Everthing. The total was $88.78 with fees. I called back after reading the thread to inquire about "Best of Sirius". Way....too expensive for me. I couldn't get a promotion rate as the previous member. So..just XM. Thanks for keeping this thread! I'll be doing it again next year. This is my 3rd time renewing!

Any Canadians know if this deal still works for us in Canada? What are the current deals for Canada? My 3 month trial ends in March 2011, but I would like to know what they are offering now.

Thanks

$77 deal still works

Hello Acura Lovers---It still works! I called 1.800.347.0600. Told the Customer Service rep I would like to renew my subscription at the $77.00 rate. He did not ask for any promo codes (so I didn't offer any).

The rep verified my name, address, over 18, and email address. Checked with a supervisor. The music royalty fee of $8.32 was added. So for a total of $85.32. I get a years worth of XM instead of the $157.83 on the invoice they billed me for. A savings of $72.51.

It's raining in Southern California, but the sun is shining on my house!!

Thanks again Acurazine, you all ROCK

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a trial / promo to reactivate XM radio on a used TL-S I just purchased? Didn't see anything on their web site.

I just picked up a used 05 TL and called XM to get the radio set up before I knew about all of these deals, doh! After they initially charged me $175 for one year I stumbled upon this thread and called. I told them I wasn't interested in paying that much for something I don't use often and would like to cancel. They put me through to the cancellations department and I told them I would be interested in staying for the $77 a year promo, the lady said sure. They are supposed to refund the difference, I will be keeping my eye out to make sure.

Thanks!

Did you have to tell them a code or anything for your system, if so how did you find it?

I will be checking in the next few days regarding a trial period for XM. I have had my new to me 2008 TL-S for a few weeks and have been wondering if is worth the cost for a full blown subscription as I havent really checked it out. I will repost when I get more info.

Thanks to all who posted promo codes and the such...will be checking on those as well.

got a deal offer in the mail today for $82.45 for 1 year + $0.97/month(MRF) + taxes. Comes out to $98.70 for the year. So thinking of jumping on this deal that works out to $8.23/month.

Anyone interested in it the deal PROMO code is DEAL50PA.

I tried to renew today at the $77.00 rate I have been getting since 2004 and they told me I have used up my "promotion" allotment. So I said to let my subscription expire. Then they told me I may get an e-mail offer or snail mail offer. I tried to renew online but it doesn't seem to want to accept anything other than their standard retail offerings.

I actually just had to call twice to get this to work. The first guy was a dick and was saying that i needed to "read the whole xm letter i received in the mail" to him. He was not gonna give me the deal. I called again and got a cool guy that was telling me how nice the TL was. I told him I received a letter about a $77 promotion code and I was looking for the letter. He said "dont worry about it i'll set you up right now"! I think your best bet is to get a cool guy. He originally told me it was would be $130 a yr or something like that. Just keep calling back till you get someone legit.

Tried to activate online with that code - it showed the total, but when I went to order it I got an error message "Transaction type is invalid". Did you order online or over the phone?

I've been receiving the half-off rate since I got my car 7 years ago.

I received a notice that an automatic renewal rate of $38.85 quarterly was going to be charged to my credit card on 8/7.

I called and told them I'm not in my car often enough to justify the rate of $38.85, and asked if they could extend my promotional rate through the next year. After 15 minutes of mostly being on hold with the call desk in India, I was told they had no current promotions. They said they would have to transfer me to someone who would note on my account that I didn't want to renew my subscription when it was up.

I was transferred to someone in the US, and went through the same speech about not being in the car often enough. She immediately offered me the same rate of $5.59/mo for the next year.
