Strange problem with subwoofer install

Hey guys since this is my first post i should introduce myself. I just bought a CBP TL Type S back in Sept. Love the car! My previous car was a modified 02 wrx. This car is comfortable good looking and sporty, everything I wanted.

Anyway on to the issue. I read most of the sub and amp install threads on here and the were very useful. Here is where i am at. I finish up the install hook everything up and look at the amp in my trunk as i turn the key. It lights up! awesome. Turn around and realize the whole console is out. NAV screen and clock area are all blank. Cigarrette lighter sockets are also out. I freak out. Check all the fuses and they were all good.

I disconnect the battery and hook it back up. (power wire not connected) turn the car on and thank god! everything comes on the way it should. this time i connect the power wire to the battery the proper way as to avoid sparks. I hook the add a fuse back into the 32 slot. but this time i use the second fuse slot on the add a fuse (it comes with two) turn the car on the radio comes on. I turn around and the amp is not on. So i switch the the original slot in the add a fuse and plug it back in. Turn the car on and the screens are blank again but the amp is on.

Disconnect the add a fuse, reset the battery, and turn the key. the Nav and everything comes back on.

What the hell is happening? it seems to have something to do with the power wire? or perhaps its something different and the screens are going blank because when the power wire works the amp turns on and messes something up elsewhere.

Any ideas or things to investigate. Im pissed but soooo happy the nav and everything didnt get fried.

Are you using both slots in the add-a-fuse?

No I'm not, I thought it just added the line to tap into the existing fuse. Please tell me there should be a fuse in both.... I will feel nice and stupid haha

Haha, well its certainly a relief that the problem is as simple as that. Usually nothing is simple with electrical issues. Thanks for the fast help! i now officially know how to use an add-a-fuse.

Had this happen to me when I hooked up my side-view cameras. Both slots need a fuse to work.

About a month ago, i was working on my car and removed my add-a-fuse to work in the driver kick panel area. Got through, started my car and it would not shift out of park and my radio wasnt working. Went back and rechecked my work, and what do you know, I forgot to reinstall my add-a-fuse back into slot #32.
