Anyone notice low max volume?

In my tl, i notice that even at the max 40 volume it doesnt seem that loud. Is it just me? I am thinking about buy an amp to accompany the deck power to push out more volume but if its just a radio defect it will be covered by warranty and i wont have to bother with it. What are your thoughts?

I feel the same way. That's why I'm planning to install an aftermarket stereo and sub. I keep hearing about the the base link. How about the stock speakers? Are they worth keeping?

I've never turned mine up to 40. Methinks that if you turn yours up that high on a regular basis, there may be a very good hearing-related reason why you think it doesn't seem loud! (This is notwithstanding any damage I probably did to my hearing 25 years ago by cranking a Walkman up too loud through headphones.)

Don't push it all the way to 40.

Add an amp to it. I have mine setup to where the highest I can stand it is at 20. That way I don't have to worry about crazy distortion. With the extra headroom if I get a CD that's recorded too "quiet" for lack of a better word I can push it up to 30 to get the extra volume but I'm still a good ways from 40.

I feel the stock amp does not push enough power but I'm still confused on amping the cabin speakers. I have added amps and subs to other cars but I am not sure where to get the signal from on the TL. I know the amp is in the passenger side footwell but there are at least 3 large bundles of cables in there. How do I know which ones to tap into an will I need to use a line output converter (loc)?

Try turning off the Dolby Surround or whatever it is in the Audio menu (assuming you have Navi). It is like night and day. Quality is a bit lower, volume is a lot higher.

Wow what a lot of (respectfully) useless replies.

Same issue here, suddenly one day volume is super low, barely a the low end of comfortable at 40 - barely audible at 40 when it is raining.
