Just did this on a 2007 TL-S. Apparently I had a 2009 disc, as my files were named 09Touch.bin and 09Touch2.bin. I used those and changed the commands for the 07/08 "white disc" and it works.

Thanks!

Thanks Pat!

I just got an 04 TL and had to start tinkering, I'm putting in bluetooth next week!

Appreciate the work you did to bring all of this material back from the dead.

I gotta say my favorite part is the trip computer.

What kind of Bluetooth audio system are you putting in? I'm starting to look into the same thing.

I'm going with a USA-Spec module that hooks into one of the XM inputs. I'm pretty sure it will work but I'll know by the end of the week. Looks like it might be the best on the market for an OEM experience; retains steering controls as well as titles/artist/album on screen.

Alright so first off I want to say this thread is awesome and the hack was incredibly simple to figure out. Worked perfectly first disk. Well now I want to play with it and learn more. So I was wanting to figure out how to remove the AD but not because I don't want the signature, I just want to figure out how to change the entire nag screen text. I have spent all day to this point working on this and have been reading the threads that have been posted regarding this and have been working with the HEX editor and still cannot figure this out. Is there a certain .bin file that I need to download or should I be able to find this in even the stock .bin files? I thought I could get this without needing someone to hold my hand and walk me through it but I have never even seen HEX code so its all new to me. Is there a certain .bin file that I need to look into to modify or what? I would love to help figure this out and make this simple.

Again great write up I've been looking into doing this since I bought the car

I believe that the 09 disk you can only change the splashscreen and theres different instructions in the .zip file that explains how to do so

So far I've done two separate disks. First one was just a picture I found on here but you cant even see it in the daylight even with tinted windows.

Second one I threw together on photoshop

I read the original thread and original poster said it can be done with CDR/DVDR so decided to give it a go and so far worked for me.

Keep in mind that I have Orange Disc V3.4 in my 2005 6-speed. Also, I did not try to edit the BIN to use custom wallpaper so not sure if for people that want to customize wallpaper have to use DVD-R or not.

Above is the CD-R I got from Walmart, 10 pack for $5.

what type of disc are you burning on? cd-r? cd+r? dvd-r? dvd+r?

also when burning are you choosing the lowest speed possible? like 2x?

lastly are you following the disc swap procedure to the tee? i had to do the steps like 3 times before it would finally accept my disc and load...every second counted apparently while i was running from back to front and front to back to swap and flip lids.

Works with the version 30D disk!

Just spent some time actually reading the posts so I understood them.
  1. Copied the BNHH401A.BIN file from the files provided
  2. Used dumpnavi (graphical version) to change the startup screen
  3. Burned to disk
  4. Loaded using the following procedure
    1. Turn ACC on
    2. Eject existing DVD
    3. Insert your "hack" disk (you must close the DVD drive door)
    4. At the "Disk Error" screen, hold Guide, Menu & Cancel buttons for about 5 seconds
    5. Press "Version", then "Load Disk"
    6. Once the disk loads, you should return to the "Disk Error" screen
    7. Eject your "hack" disk, reinsert your map disk
    8. System should boot to map, bypassing "OK" button
Thanks for the files and for the instructions!!

Whoops, forgot to mention, the ONLY bin file I used was the BNHH401A.BIN file, which is the one that I determined was the load file.

Forgive my ignorance but how do you burn all 9 bin files to the DVD? I'm using Roxio and it's only allowing me to select 1 bin file to burn???? thanks!

I'm going to try BurnAware, which option did you use to burn the 9 files? "Make Boot ISO"? Thanks!

Newer versions of Windows should be able to burn the DVD natively, though I'd need to look into it as I haven't done it in a while, (I used my Mac to burn the DVD).

Right, are you referring to dragging and dropping the 9 files to the DVD drive and then burn? Thanks!

make boot iso

i actually had a guy local see the screen and like it and asked me to do it and paid me to do it which was nice. If anyone needed help doing this if you were having trouble with any part or with the sizing of the picture I still have all the software and what not and figured out how to do it easily, I'd be glad to help as long as you covered the materials, shipping, and some of the time from editing the photo. ( as long as it's not against forum rules)

i just know a lot of people don't do this because they struggle with the beginning steps.

What if you don't have the original nav cd? Can you still just use what's provided here for it to work?

what do you mean by original? If you still have a disk then yes it should work but I don't think the nav works without a nav disk in it?

This step:
"Step 7:
Go to car with both discs, turn key to ACC position (last position before start), insert you original Navi DVD and wait until you see safety warning, then press Map/Guide + Menu + Cancel for 5 seconds, then press Version."
I do not have the original nav dvd that came with the car.. so this is pointless for me? I might as well just buy the newest nav dvd from acura..can't find it anywhere else

do you have a navigation disk at all? When your navigation comes on, do you see maps? Does it tell you to check disk? Go to your trunk and eject the dvd drive and post what it is

Thanks for putting this together Patrick! I'm going to try this in a bit, for anyone interested in splash screen images, here's two that I just downloaded and edited:

They should work, but I haven't tested either yet.
