Blackberry 7100i - Nextel
The Acura site shows this phone as being compatable. I have it paired, but it is impossible to make an outgoing call and have anyone understand anything I am saying. It is scratchy and full of echo.
Incoming calls are just fine.
Has anyone who has this phone been able to get it to work with outgoing calls?

For everyone that's having problems with the sound, incoming and outgoing, when they are hooked to the HFL, do you need to manually switch the call like I have to?
My LG 350 has a menu displayed when I'm on a call, and one of the choices is "switch to BT". I have to manually switch for incoming calls, and then I can continue the call through the car speakers.
It's mildly irritating, and my husband says it defeats the whole purpose of "handsfree", because you have to keep the phone handy to switch the calls. However, it's a 2 second process, and then I'm good to go.
Just a thought that you might want to check your phone during a test incoming or outgoing call to see if this is what you need to do.
The lack of signal strength showing on on the car's digital screen doesn't bother me, because I always hook the phone to the car charger anyway.
I'm just happy to have the convenience in the car to talk on the phone without having to use my hands.

Anyone have any information on whether the Samsung d807 from Cingular works? I just got one for my wife and it recognizes the HFL in the car, but for some reason the car gets to the point where I need to give the phone a name and then "be-booops." (That's what we call the car not liking the input)

Rogers/Fido w/ Motorola V360 - OK
Just a note to report that the Motorola V360 from Fido in Ontario Canada (Toronto), pairs OK with HFL on my new 06 TL. All features except battery levels are compatible as per handsfreelink.com. I can place/receive calls just fine and transfering between HFL and phone is as simple as saying "TRANSFER" on the HFL. The V360 is not the latest of phones out there, but it has more than the features I will ever use and IT WORKS with the HFL.
Initially, I tested the SE Z520a but the HFL-phone system was very unpredictable, even after a successful pairing procedure. Note that the phone arrived with a firmware other than the one posted as "approved" on handsfreelink.com. I investigated in details whether I could downgrade the firmware, but in the end I gave up. (No real assistance from either Fido or SE on this issue. Acura is not to blame - they clearly indicate a compatibility with only a specific firmware version.)
Bottom line: Follow religiously the phone-HFL compatibility table posted in handsfreelink.com and you should have very predictable results.

Nokia E61
I have just purchased a Nokia E-61 and am using it on Rogers Wireless. It linked easily once I figured out how to put it in discovery (it is explained well at page 63 of the phone manual). It works well (better than my Moto V551) but neither the battery or signal strength shows on the MID. This was expected.

Just from experience...
The best phone with the TL is the Motorola E815.
I'm currently using the Motorola Q and it works amazingly too.
I had the xv6700 and it worked but not too great for me at least but awesome to hear its working for you guys.
The Razr works but just to let you guys know from my experience demoing the phone it sux. That also seems to be what ALOT of people tell me too.
The LG vx8300 works? Thats awesome. That has to be the only phone I haven't checked so far.
Don't get the A930 it sux from what I hear too. As far as battery life and dealing with the bluetooth on as well the Moto E815 still seems to be the best in my experience.
If you need anything get back to me ...lataz

Thank you sir, So on N73 everything works?

Not quite everything. No signal strength or battery meter, but it pairs easily, sounds clear, caller id, and everything works really well. I never had a Nokia that had the signal strength or batery meter so I wasn't surprised at this. I am very happy with the way the N73 interfaces with the HFL.

good news. Sony Ericsson k800i now works fully with handsfreelink, after the very latest firmware update R1ED001 (soon to be released, for now on wotanserver)

This might help
Try this link to check Acura tested phones and compatibility with HFL
http://www.handsfreelink.com/find/index.htm
I personally have Verizon Samsung a950, this is a terrible phone to use with
HFL it does not display signal or battery and the steering wheel hang up or call
end button does not work, it also diconnects when there is a call waiting which is very inconvenient.
Anyway the Link above is an excellent guide to find compatilble phones based on your service provider.

This link does not seems to be very correct. Lists T-Mobile T809 does not work, however, I've been using it with no problems whatsoever with the TL HFL. Only thing does not work is Battery and Signal meter.

Anyone got a new Sony phone to work.
The W810i would not a few months ago for me, so I sold it.
But I'm hearing that SE might have fixed the BT issue with a FW upgrade.
There are a few new SE phones out there including the W810i. Can someone report back about the W810i or any new SE phone.
Thanks

I don't know why the T-809 is listed as not compatilbe, I think you lucked out with your phone working. I have a Verizon Samsung SCH-950 and all I can do is call and answer,
the call end doesn't work and if I get a call waiting it diconnects completely.
It might be possible you have a new or upgraded version of that phone, I know with mine
VZ relaesed like 2or 3 more 950's after I bought it.

Just for Sh*ts and giggles I tried to connect it (in hopes of saving a few bucks if it worked) but I could not get it pair. The phone found the HFL once but the HFL timed out three times and I gave up. I don't think the a930 sux, I think it's completely worthless, for anyone
shopping VZ stay away from it.
I'm am curious to know what your experience was so anyone with info. regarding either the a930 or a990 please reply.

***UPDATE***
If you have or want to have a Sony W810i or K790a, there is a new firmware update on Sonys web site that will fix the bluetooth issues with these phones and the HFL. You will need to update the FW from the SEUS to get the W810 or K790a to work correctly with the HFL. The USB cable that came with the phone is all you need to get the phone updated. You can also call Sony Support number and they will walk you thru the free update, as these phones have US support now.
Good luck.

I still have the original color phone...Sony Ericsson T68i, pairs with my TL just fine; with call waiting, caller id, signal strength and battery strength!
No complaints from me, even though my friends keep insisting I get a new phone (I think it's about 4 or 5 years old now?) and when I got my SIM card updated yesterday, the guy who worked at Cingular called my phone "classic"...

I just signed up with Cingular and I was able to pair up the Sony Ericsson Z525a with the TL's HFL.
It initially paired up with no problems, but I couldn't hear anything through the speakers in the TL. So I tried it the next morning and everything worked perfectly (I did the intial setup late at night)...you see everything on the HID (battery meter, signal strength, etc).
So far so good......

I ran into problems with the SonyEricsoon Z525a.
I couldn't get any sound through the speakers.
Based on the feedback of other users in this forum, I returned it and get a Motorola Razr.
The Razr paired up fine and worked with some test calls. BUT overall I prefer the functionality/usability of the SonyEricsson....I hope they correct the problem soon!

You would just have to update the Z520a's software via SE website.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before-I did a search and it was hard to tell.
Does anyone know if the Motorola SLVR L2 pairs with the hands free link? I am specifically asking about the L2, not the L6/L7. I just ordered it off ebay for my new TL, then realized everyone is talking about the L7. Thanks!
