After a wash & detail
We finally had a Saturday that was cool and dry. After the Pirate Invasion of the city, I decided to give the RLX a past due detail. I also tried out my new car blow dryer. It works great, saves towel drying the car and with the Opti Coat Pro + the water droplets easily blow away.

I think the Opti Coat Pro + is the best thing you did! My detailer uses CQuartz Finest, so that is what i used for my car. These coats make the finish so shiny, slippery, and it remains cleaner much longer. They are also supposed to get shinier after some time passes.....

Indeed. I had Opti Guard applied to my RL when it was 6 years old, and the finish remained in tact. Opti Coat Pro+ is the newer generation of the professional product and the Pro+ adds much more gloss to the finish.
The Graphite Luster does a great job hiding dirt but the finish on the RLX is not as smooth and deep as was my RL (which was hand wet sanded at the factory).
It really helps keep sap, bird dropping and the like from sticking to and etching the clearcoat. It washes off easily. And the hydrophobic nature of the coating makes the blow dryer an easy way to dry without spots. I just have to towel dry the door jambs, trunk channels and under the engine hood. Then I use a simple detail finish with a microfiber towel and the finish is smooth, slick and better looking than the factory finish. The coating also adds some protection to the plastic pieces, chrome, wheels and even the glass.
Having it applied to the car when new, I hope will give me the same durability I experienced with my RL. I think it is well worth the investment.

Nice job - love GLM. I had that on my TL and it had such a gorgeous glow when polished/sealed. I find my white RLX easier to keep clean as it doesn't show road dust etc - but it certainly doesn't pop like sparkly GLM. Also love that you don't need a front licence plate - I'm envious. Looks so much cleaner.
Well done!

Looks great. Can I ask where you purchased the blower? I'm thinking it's time for one. Thanks.

^^^ Chemical Guys.
Chemical Guys - JetSpeed VX6 Professional Surface Air Dryer & Blower
I think it works quite well. A bit noisy, about the same as my shop vac or cordless leaf blower.
