Unexpected Nav update (?)

I stopped by my Acura dealer this afternoon for a car wash, and since I was coming from a different starting place,, I used the nav to plot the most direct route.

After the car wash, I left the dealer, only to discover that the warning screen (you know, the one that flashed up for a few seconds when you first start the car) wouldn't go away. I tried pressing the Nav button, asked the VR lady to display the map, and even stopped and restarted the car, all to no avail.

So I turned around and went back to the dealership. The service writer was puzzled, so he sent it back to the shop, and an hour and a half later it came back out. All was well, except that my phone was no longer paired.

The paperwork says "Nav needs updating. Nav updated."

So ..... I guess I wasn't aware my nav needed an update, and I sure didn't know it would tell me so by refusing to display the map screen.

Anyone else run into this?

Did you previously get the software update per TSB 13-008 or 14-014.....or was this the first time?

Did your service receipt reference these TSB numbers?

My understanding was that my car didn't fall under the earlier update TSB. And the service order doesn't reference any TSB.

In any case, the fact it just wouldn't display anything but the warning screen isn't consistent with any of the software updates, is it?

Your symptom is not one of those listed in TSB 14-014.

Is 07AAZ-T2GA200 listed on the service receipt?

I'm aware that I'm supposed to get a NAV update, but so far I haven't had any pressing need to do it.

I'll get it done, sooner or later. :-)

Nope. The whole narrative on the recipt they gave me is:

Electrical

Client states Nav screen will not show map. Please advise.

Navi unit needs update.

Performed update.

Labor and parts: 0.00
It's working fine again, and I guess that's what counts.

I had the Nav update done when I noticed my Sirius/XM stations would not show up sometimes on the list when I pushed Audio. Supposedly the update would cure that - it didn't.
