acuralink
had this issue with acuralink
first, odd that connecting to acura client services is not an option in the acuralink menu.
I had a problem for multiple days with traffic not showing. I connected to acuralink and they said traffic was provided through acura client relations. Provided? Maybe client relations controls the subscription, but doesn't traffic come through the acura link connection?
So I asked to talk to client relations. They said that they could not transfer me. Why not? Because we are emergency services? What, I pressed concierge menu item. I connect back later and this time they said no problem and transferred me. Talked to client relations and they were no help.
my issue is that I think I should get some sort of refund when traffic does not work. I'm paying for acuralink, but they say traffic is free. I say that I have paid for traffic one way or the other. It was bundled into the price of the car.

I am still having issue with the AcuraLink light and my dealer has no answer for me...he has a better inside track to client services than I. He has stated many owners have had the same request about the 'light'. I agree that if we do not get services that we paid for then a refund of sorts is not out of the question.

I get the red light very often.
But...I always seem to connect to the right people, whether it's a red light or a green light.
Regarding the original poster's experience with the concierge service, I'd think about reporting that if he can remember the date and time of the call. It sort of defies the meaning of "concierge" if they can't perform an unusual service that incommodes if you have to do it yourself.

You know what my biggest problems are?
It's that damned microphone in the stupid reverberating housing(1) combined with whatever heuristics they use at the server(2).
When I really need to get directions (really NEED it to work), it never works.
I'll connect to either Agent or Concierge and get it done, but it is annoying. They make it very clear that I'm welcome to connect to them and forget the server altogether, but it just slows things down.
I don't mind interacting with human beings, but the pleasantries just slow things down and it rather defies the convenience aspect of AcuraLink. You're usually already underway when you try to get directions, and you need quick answers, not 45 second of pleasant blather before you even get to the address you're looking for.
I have this odd accent that is a mix of my human experiences. Tidewater, Oxfordshire and Mid Atlantic all mixed together. Maybe it's too much to expect heuristics to handle it but if GCHQ can do it I don't know why Acura cannot.
Sorry if I sound like an old grump. :-)

We should probably both aim at "Mid Atlantic" as a decent compromise! :-)

Hepburn and Grant, both Mid Atlantic accents.
