replacing battery in 2014 mdx
Hey there folks...just wondering if there is a diy on replacing the battery in a 3G mdx. My wife kept accessories on while she waited for me to run an errand in thre store...about 15 min and the car needed a jump. but its since been a couple years and i want to replace the battery since its our family cruiser. The searches I pull up are often for the remote battery but not the car battery. I see it looks like I need to remove some plastic paneling and maybe the air filter? Can someone point me to a write up, if any, please?
thanks

The battery might be covered under the 4/50,000 basic warranty if it found to be bad. I've haven't had much luck with Acura OEM batteries and they usually start to under perform or even die around the 3-4 year mark on the 100 month battery. Any replacement from Interstate, Sears, or Costco seem to perform to advertised standards compared to the hit-or-miss OEM battery. I went with Interstate batteries in all three vehicles and zero problems with leaving the radio on for almost an hour (old OEM battery wouldn't start the vehicle after 20-30 minutes).

Very easy.
1. Remove the plastic cover that is the full width (fender to fender) across the front by just pulling it up.
2. Remove the 2 plastic clips the hold the Air Scoop (Below)
3. Pull the Air Scoop towards the front to remove.
4. Undo the negative cable first, then the positive.
5. Unbolt the hole-downs

I would also put a little coating of die- electric grease on the terminals - just to make a good connection. When tightening the connections don't crank down too hard, as it could strip out the bolt (don't ask me how I know). Make it tight enough to that you can't move the cable on it.

This. It will/would require a trip to your dealer, but may not cost you anything other than some of your time. Unless being the family cruiser, you are already over the 50K mark.
