2017 9 Speed Transmission-Oh My!!!

Just had my MDX serviced. The dealer gave me a 2017 TLX. This 9 speed transmission is smoother and more refined than my 2016 9 speed. What the heck did they do to it?

Likely just a software update. I don't believe anything changed with the actual transmission.

If I am driving slowly, the shift from 1st to 2nd or may be it is from 2nd to 3rd can be quite harsh. It really bangs in hard! Only happens once in a while. I have lots of warranty left so not a concern at all. The 2017 TLX 9 speed I had as a loaner did not exhibit any of this behavior.

^^ ...and as you know, Acura Canada doesn't seem to do anything to address any of the problems owners are experiencing! Like the clunking suspension in the RDX and ILX, no TSBs on the TLX transmission and your MDX's transmission - I can save you a trip to the dealer - "Sir, your MDX is operating as designed and intended".

I believe that Chrysler products with the ZF 9 speed are now on their third software revision. Hopefully the expansion of this trans. into the Pilot will get AHM to make revisions a priority.

wondering if there is a "learn" to the shifting. If so is there different learns for each key fob?
