From '05 TL to '15 MDX
I haven't been active on the boards for a while but I just picked up a '15 SH-AWD Tech grey/black MDX. This replaces my daily driver an '05 TL. We still have the TL and my hubby will be using it some when he's not driving his S2000. We wanted to keep two cars that our 10 month old can ride in.
Of course there's a story....
They didn't have this color combo on the lot so our sales guy had to do a search for one. Then he calls us and says one just came off the truck from the factory. So we say great let's do it. They say they need to put fuses into it and get it ready and that the parts are delayed due to bad weather somewhere so he says will be ready Sat (last week). We go on Sat to do paperwork and get it and he says they found some clips were broken on the 3rd row seats and that they will have to order the parts, won't be ready till Tues. We go on Tues night to get it, I get in the car with the sales guy and I turn it on--has 333 miles on it. He says "I was mistaken, they ended up getting this car from Houston and they drove it up to Austin. Then he says that to make it up to us they put on some interior protection package that he says is worth $1000.
We basically say ok and think well 175 or so miles to drive it from Houston isn't that bad. Wish we would've been told but at this point we take it home. I start looking through the manual and happen upon the service records. The inital inspection sheet shows that the Houston dealership did the inspection on June 23. So this upsets me that the car is 5 months old. They are selling these like hot cakes and grey/black is pretty popular combo so there's no way that car sat on the lot and didn't sell. It was most likely used as a test drive car or some manager drove it around. BTW, when I went to pair my phone there was already another phone paired!
I talk to the sales guy the next day and say I want some answers as to the history of this car and for the fact that they didn't tell us that we weren't getting the one off the truck like we thought, I wanted the remote start thrown in for free. He comes back and says they don't know the history of the car and that they won't do remote start because 333 miles is like one tank of gas (a ~60 value). They offer to throw in free oil changes/tire rotations for 3 years. I tell him no I want the remote start. We are repeat customers to this dealership and if they want to keep our business they can throw this in. He comes back and says they will do it.
Got body side molding in the deal and paid for tint and the cargo tray. Going to get tint and remote start done soon.
So far really liking the car. They did give us a loaner last Sat when the car wasn't ready and we drove it a lot and really liked the handling in the rain and the comfortable ride to/from College Station.
I do miss the sporty drive of the TL--had the ASPEC suspension on it, but we needed more room for our son and all his stuff. This is my first SUV and I liked that the MDX isn't too big--doesn't feel like my sister's Tahoe. I love all the features. The TL was cool with all it's tech back in '05 and now the MDX has a ton more.
The only things I plan to do for now are put some ultimate pedals on which I had on the TL and maybe replace the stock speakers which I had also done in the TL.

Congrats on the new X. I don't think I would have been as nearly as calm as you sound about my new MDX having 300+ miles on it and another phone paired to it.
I'm sure you will be very happy with it going forward.

I've been driving it around for a couple of weeks now and everything seems to be ok. Of course they tried to say the phone paired was probably someone test driving it and testing the phone pairing. Of course we'll never know.
