TPMS from TLX to TSX?
My wife decided to hit a nice pothole and blow out the sidewall of her tire and lightly curb her 18" Aspec wheels so I thought I would just save time and hassle and purchased a set of TLX 18" take offs. They both show 315 MHz TPMS but are they compatible?
I bolted the rims on with no issues, fit, clearance and so on. They even registered the pressure, I looked before and after, one tire was 37 rest were 31 so I drove to the local gas station to set the sensors and fill all the tires to the same pressure. Worked like a champ for about 15 minutes, now I get a warning error and NONE of the tires are registering.
Any suggestions, and also I still have the old wheels & TPMS, how easy is it to reuse them. I have seen rebuild kits, do I need one or just unscrew & replace?
On a final note, if anyone says... "buy new ones" are the eBay TPMS as good as the OEM?

From personal experience, and depending on your local climate, the TPMS sensors have a finite battery life, which is about 5 years of use. I got used TPMS for my winter tire set and had to replace 2 of them due to "low battery" condition about half-way through the life of the tires. Of course, replacing a sensor involves having to remove and re-balance a tire, at a cost. Bottom line, get new TPMS sensors.
Regarding rebuilt kits, it's mainly for leakproof purpose - there is a one-time-use washer as well as gasket. The internal battery is not replaceable (not easily, anyways). There is also a specific torque that has to be used when installing the sensors on the rims (tire shops have a special torque wrench for this).

I thought that wheels from a TLX would be fine due to the "oldest" TLX is two years old. What I'm trying to figure out is if they are both 315MHz do they talk to each other.
