Pirelli handling/cornering

Hi all,

Close to buying a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus....I like to accelerate and corner my TSX when the mood strikes. I want a decent compromise between all season and summer tires.
Will anyone with my style of driving comment on the Pirelli's general cornering abilities ?
Searched for such feedback, but many of the Acura owners comments were from easy to average style drivers....great overall ratings on the tire though, really well liked.
Thanks...Mike

I installed a set of them on my TSX this February on my 18" wheels (225/45/18) after reading all the reviews. Also because of the low price. I tend drive fast in corners when dry, almost at the limits when there are no cars. They do very well with a bit of understeer at the limit. Tires do not squeal, they rub. My OEM tires were summer Yokohama Advan Sport tires, it handled a bit better with some oversteer at times. The Yokohamas also have more road feedback at the steering wheels. Still, with the Pirellis, the traction control does not activate when launching it from a standstill unless it's wet. And most importantly, they are really quiet! Bumps are soaked more than the OEMs. Still at 9/32 (originally at 10/32) after 15000 km. I will buy them again after they wear out. My OEM tires were worn evenly at 3/32nd after only 25000 km. Make sure to do an alignment after putting them on.

Hi leo200617,

Thanks for a very informative post. Sounds like my habits, I always enjoy the TSX when alone in the car and when traffic is not a worry factor. I made the mistake of not aligning the car after buying some Dunlops last summer, and they are now wrecked, hence my need for new tires.
I find Costco has a great price, but am surprised to find out a local Honda dealership will match them. Cool, and I can align the car all at the same time.
I'm pretty convinced now sir...

Cheers ! Mike
