Anyone running these tein coilovers in here?

im sure plenty are. Just want to see how they ride and how low they go. For this price I am interested. I was going to go with h&r since I want a smooth ride nothing to aggresive but these are almost half the price.

About 95% of this forum is on them. Including me, on 2 different TSX's. One set has 50-55K miles on it and is still kicking strong.

They ride better than stock.

They are not meant to go VERY low. But that hasn't stopped anyone before in the history of mankind from just slammnnembro.

Their sweet spot is probably between 1 and 1.75" lower than stock.

I bought my first set a million years ago and have been talking them up ever since. I'm sure a search would reveal a million threads. And now 1 million + 1 because of this thread.

I got both my sets from THmotorsports because of pricing and free shipping.

Just note that I bought them before they were trendy. I also once burned my mouth with pizza because I ate it before it was cool.

Lmk.

My 55K+ mile set is now starting to get a bit more floaty. They still work...but low speed rebound damping is weak now. So I get a little 1970's Cadillac action on dips.

May buy a new set or maybe Konis or something next year. Or just live with a small amount of float.

I hear great things about TEIN coilovers from customers that have purchased them. They are an all around good coilover and we've got them.

I am.

They are bit floaty and must be ran at max dampening. I can't say I'm surprised since they are cheap. My only real gripe is how low they are. Man, at max height on my wagon, I maybe have a finger gap. I'll be selling my setup soon and going with ST or back to stock springs and Koni yellow.

I went from ST's to Tein. I am selling my ST's with 5K miles on them.

The ST's did control better...but the Teins ride nicer.

I also experienced the too-low height in the rear. I solved my issue by using a 1.25" thick aluminum spring spacer that I had machined by a friend.

Where did you add the spacer?

My concern is that I do not want to compromise the travel of the shock by running a spacer.

The spacer won't change the travel of the shock. It merely adds additional overall height.

Imagine, if you will, you have a 6" spring sitting upright on a table. Put your hand on top (6" off the table top) and compress it. Say it ends up 4 inches off the table top. Your total compression is 2 inches.

Now imagine the same spring, but put a dictionary on top. When you put your hand on top, it's maybe 8" from the table top. The spring will still compress the same 2 inches as before because it hasn't changed, but your hand ends up 6 inches from the table top because of that spacer (dictionary) you added.

That's the same idea as Roland did. Add the spacer to get some additional overall height without sacrificing the total travel.

^Correct. The spacer is hollow (important) to allow the shock/bumpstop to pass thru and sits on top of the spring.

See them silver bits? Those be the upper plates, mon.

I replaced the rear upper plates with a 1.25" thick spacer....which is shaped just like the plates...but 1.25" thick. Its made from 6061 T6 alumium. Its easy AF to make if you have either a lathe or a CNC lathe. Then you'll want to either anodize (preferred), or organic coat (paint/powder/immersion) them.

I painted and vinyl wrapped mine.

With said spacers, the car sits about 1/2" lower than stock for winter use. I could have gone higher...but it was getting kinda difficult to turn the height adjusters...and even using all of my cunning, the shitty Tein adjuster wrenches were frustrating me like a MF.

The front is fine. I got enough height out of the front with the stock tein thread tubes. Maybe V6 cars would have trouble getting the front high enough.

For summer use, the car is like...idk...1 or 1.2" lower than stock? This is easily done.

I may snap some photos. But, as DMX's aptly titled album would read, "it is dark and IL is cold".

Tein coilovers are a great set of coils, like previously said, we hear great things from customers who get them installed. They find a wonderful balance in between comfort, and handling all at a solid price too.

ST, being a sister company of KW also makes a solid set of coilovers. The ST coilover is the same construction as a KW V1 but it's made from different materials, hence the cheaper price point. I had a set of ST's on my car and personally, I loved them even to this day, despite the fact of not having the car anymore.

I got to put about 25-30k miles on my ST's. I loved the feel, quality, and the ride the whole way through. They were truly just a good buy. They come with a 5 year warranty that KW/ST stands behind as long as you get them put on at a shop, and are within their recommended specs, which is a nice little bonus.

We have both of these sets in stock, along with all your other suspension needs here: Suspension - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist

Feel free to PM me questions or for quotes!
