I've noticed that sound does not occur during Houston summer.

Also, I intend to see if "bumping the starter" once or twice will reseat the locking pin when cooler temps return. I suspect sound occurs when pin is not latched and cam is free to rotate until oil pressure increases.

Well, my 5-year-old TSX just started having this grinding noise. It has 120,000km on it. The symptoms match what have been described in this thread. Anyone knows if there is a TSB for 2011 model? The car is running fine otherwise. I would like to keep it for another couple of years before trading it in.

2011 shouldn't apply because Acura supposedly fixed it. I have a 2009 model, got this TSB done TWICE but the noise eventually comes back. I'm currently at 175,000 miles (not km) and I hear this every winter morning. There is no permanent fix for this unfortunately.

Is it still doing it? Do you even still have the car?? mine is a 2011 and i just threw a starter on it thinking that was the obvious fix. Trying to decide how worried i should be about it??

My 2010 TSX has quit making VTC noise. Only change is switch to synthetic oil. No idea if the oil switch is fix or not.

I have read extensively on VTC actuator noise on several forums (CRV, Accord, TSX) and have found no posts of damage resulting from this noise.

I have a 2009 acura tsx and in 2016 I was having the same issue. It was the oil consumption issue that was covered under Acura TSB.
