The car is lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit springs, with Koni Sports (Yellows). Rims are Volk CE-28N in titanium gunmetal, 18x8.5 +30 ET. Got some bald 245/40/18 Falken Azenis RT-615 on now

Hey puppetmaster, was curious. I read that you rolled the rears and haven't touched the fronts while running 245s all around. Anything change? Also, have your fronts rubbed at all (including heavy compression of the front suspension)?

I'm thinking of running 18x9 +30 in the front next, which is very similar to your setup (0.5" wider in wheel width). I think I'm going to need a front fender roll as this would mean ~6mm more poke than your setup.

Thanks!

No rubbing as far as I can tell. My front camber IIRC is very slightly negative with the Eibachs and I bet if you had issues you could get a front adjustable ball joint to dial in a little negative camber to eliminate any rubbing. Or just use less tire than my 245/40.

Hey PuppetMaster really like the wagon. I have the same color wagon as you its really rare in NOVA I've only ever seen two other wagons in this area and both being driven by grandmas. Maybe one day ill see you driving around id like to see your setup in person.

Thanks. Just look for the lowered GLM wagon crusted with salt...

Had a little bit of cabin fever today and drove around a little, including stopping for a few pics despite the negative temp wind chills. Just to say that I did it, I guess, lol.

Puppet,

If you do 18x8.5+30 but on a 225/40, do you think you can get away without a roll?

I think so. I saw a pretty big difference test fitting some 235/40, so I'm guessing 225/40 can only be "better", if you're talking about preventing rubbing. You guys know how I feel about using undersized tires.

I rather have the wider/meaty tires, so just wondering playing with offset vs tire size. I want to keep rolling fenders to a minimum if possible.

Maybe time for you to get some new shoes, and sell the ones you have

Here's my usual cell phone picture in bad lighting. Just washed (not that you can tell) and summers were only reinstalled last weekend.

You want a 225/45. 40 is too short.

High performance 225's run wide. I have 225's on 8.5 + 38....and my wheel set clears my 100% stock rear fenders by about 1/4" (6mm). The front is probably a bit less at full bump.

The 8.5+30 is 5/16" (8mm) more agressive than a 8.5 +38. They *might* fit and they *might* rub with stock fenders. With a roll, they'll fit with tons of room to spare.

I wouldn't say 225/45 on a 8.5" wheel is alarmingly undersize...if at all undersize.

Pilot SS's tend to run a little bit narrower compared to other tires...FYI. Or maybe it just seems like that to me I'm just used to 225 width track oriented tires....which almost definitely run wide.

I actually felt like my 225/40/r18 PSS run a bit wider than expected. I think comparing them to other street summer tires, they're considered "wide". But maybe comparing them to track tires they're considered "narrow". This I wouldn't know since I've never owned track oriented tires.

I've experienced a few sizes of SS on a couple different cars.

To me, it looks like 225/45/17 or 245/40/18 sizing for the SS is narrower than other tires. I think even Continental or Goodyear all season tires in the same size run wider. Dunlop or Bridgestone "max performance" (same category) street tires seemed to be wider as well.

But maybe its different for 18's.

Couple more in low light. I don't know why I have such trouble remembering to take pictures when it's bright out.

Thanks man.

I honestly don't know why I bother blurring out my tags (I do it out of habit). How many TSX wagons are there out there lowered with rims, let alone around where I live? Haha.

Found your wheels in 19
Diff offset
Trying to figure out if too sunk or make the leap

My center caps came with the rims.

I really wanted the black and red GT ones, but I like mine enough that I'll keep them for now.

These are the ones I would have loved to have:

It's amazing how quickly dark cars get dirty. I didn't even get a chance to take proper pictures in daylight and now it looks like it needs another wash.

Marks of honor right there! Shiny paint pictures are nice, but this is the money shot.

I'll say that the Conti DW (not DWS) held their own in the mud until I hit an area that was puddled and torn up with deep tracks from SUVs and larger cars. That was the struggle. Admittedly, I felt a slight urge to find a spot in the field to do some mud donuts, but didn't, probably for the better.

Oh and guess what? I washed all the mud off my car last week, only to end up in the rain, and in another unpaved parking lot. No traction issues in this one though.
