Your definitely going to have to trim bumper tabs. If lowered you will probably run into some rubbing

What if I went with a different tire size? Any recommendations? I do want to stay close to original diameter specs to avoid speedometer/odometer accuracy issues. I'm not planning on lowering the car. If I change my mind though, it would probably be only an inch. Thanks for the help.

9.5" rim is impossible fit without crazy negative camber for it to "tuck" in. You'll need custom fender widebody work for a 9.5" rim to fit. Try and find a different set of rims would be my advice.

You may also need hubcentric rings since it's "H" bolt pattern and ours is a "J" ... I don't know what the difference is to be honest with you.

offset to low, especially with that size tire. Try to find a wheel with a higher offset

I am looking at 18x7.5 5-114 with a +45 for a 2000 TL-P.
This should work right?

Will this make the wheels appear to sit flush with the front and rear fenders, or will they sit slightly inside like most stock wheels?

that should work. You may need to trim your rear bumper tabs.

sorry about double posting, i dont know why it wont let me edit my post.

ayways, i found out what that number means "This number refers to the height of the sidewall, or the Aspect Ratio. It is a percentage of the section width. In this example, you would take 65 percent of 205 millimeters and this would give you the sidewall height."

so anyone know what i should be looking for if i want 225 width and 18 diameter?

i went to a shop today to see the price of the tenzo-r gt5(1000$/set) and the guy was looking for a set of tire 225/45-18 for my car 3.2tl 2003. Should it be 225/35-18, because I saw everyone here got thatin 35!?!?!?

the middle number is a aspect ratio of the first number (sidewall height)

40 or 45 is the correct size for a 225 width tire on a 18

Will They Fit??? 03 TL (No S)

I have read all the posts about what can, should, and what will maybe fit. I just want to know what exactly will happen if I get 18x8 +40offset w/ 225/40/18? Will this rub? Will this stick out of the fender? Would cutting tabs resolve any issues I might have?

I found a brand new set someone bought off ebay and found it to be wrong for their vw. New chrome, tires still with stickers.......625.00?

Also, what springs would make this work? H-tech?

I will take your advise but just one question......shouldn't it or is is false advertisement for Chrome Elements to print on their wheel application guide the 99-03TL? The size is 18x8 +40 and their chart says 99-03 TL....So this false? even though it's printed?

Thanks for the help by the way

not really. Technically they "fit" on the car. They will bolt right up no problem. But they will rub, especially when lowered. Most dont realize that the Tl requires a really high offset.

Offset needs to be a # before we can tell you if it will fit

I had the same EXACT set up, I ended up selling them, they stuck out to far, and slung mud, dust, rocks, road crap/whatever all down the side of my car constantly. Everytime anyone was in the backseat and I hit a small bump or dip in the road it would chew up my tires. Believe me, use the offset that these guys recommend, they know what they are talking about.

Will 19x7.5 +48 work? If anyone is on and knows, please let me know quick because I am meeting the guy to buy them, or not buy them, in a hour and a half.

Also, will this look bad? I don't really want to lower it, but will I need to? Approx how big will the gap be?

I have a '03 TL, navi, 20% tint. Thats all so far, I bought it 3 weeks ago. 15,900 with 42,500 on the motor.

What springs, if any?

HTech?

Yes that will fit. The gap should be NO different that the gap you have now (granted the tire size is the correct size)

Swapping my 2nd gen OEM for TSX OEM?

I am planning on upgrading my stock 16" OEM rims to 17" rims when I get new tires in a few weeks. I was thinking of getting some 17" TSX OEM rims.

After reading through the posts explaining the numbers, I still cannot make heads or tails of it, so I hope someone can help me out. I have not and do not plan on lowering my car, so I don't think the issues of rubbing will come up with my TL.

The spec on the TSX rims are as follows:

Specification ..Sidewall ..Radius ..Diameter ..Circumference ..Revs/Mile ..Difference
215/50-17 .....4.2in .......12.7in ....25.5in ......80.0in ..............792 ..........0.0%

Thanks

None of those specs are what we really look for. We look for rim width and offset. BUT the TSX wheel fits no problem

Volks LE37 18X7.5 Offset 40mm 5X114.3

Help guys!!! For sale is some Volks LE37 18X7.5 Offset 40mm 5X114.3 for $1000. Now my question is... Is there any way to make this fit my 03 Type-S?

Got about one inch gap from wheel to fender right now with my stocks. I know, I've read all the above stuff, but is there anybody out there that has been able to make this work. I don't want to pass up on these rims, but don't want it if it won't fit.

Would it possibly fit if I went with some 225/35/18 tires? and maybe with some Tokico gas shocks?

Please help... any help is greatly appreciated.

18X7.5 5X100 48MM OFFSET
18X7.5 5X114.3 48MM OFFSET
18X7.5 5X114.3 38MM OFFSET
18X7.5 5X100 38MM OFFSET
18X7.5 4X100 38MM OFFSET

The site gives me the option of these also comes in 18x8.5 but I think thats too big, tell me if I am wrong. But out of these which one is my best bet?
From what I've read it looks like one of these are going to be it.
