Is the misfire code specific to 1 cylinder? If so, remove that coil pack and move to another cyl. If the problem misfire moves to the new cyl, the coil pack is likely bad (perhaps a bent pin).

NGK right- not Egk?
99?- did that have the plug wires still, or does it have a seperate coil on top of each spark plug?
If seperate coils- check all the electrical connectors are in tight.
It was doing exactly` what` that caused you to get the codes read before, and buy plugs?
How many miles on the car now?
SO new plugs didnt cure a misfire- you need to figure out the real problem.
We need more specifics

to reset the computer between fixes- pull fuse marked `Clock` in the passenger footwell
somewhere around #12 fuse location
pull it for a few minutes and reinstall

Something is missing...my
Chances are good you have a bad coil. Didn't answer 01tl4tl's ? about plug wires or coils on each cyl. New OBDII? what do you mean? code reader? Do you still have the old plugs?

If the 99 does have a coil and distributor, also look at the distributor cap and rotor. The rotor "touches" all 6 plugs every set of firing. 100,000 mi on a cap is pretty good. If the CELs come back, I'd look there as well as the coil. Plug wires do wear down as well, but they tend to misfire on a single cylinder at first.

99s had some sort of extended warranty on the tune up parts like cap and rotor iirc
emissions test related~ call acura 1-800-382-2238x5 and ask if you are covered
and tell us what wires you played with to fix it

1) That a good look at the coil high voltage terminal, make sure the spring and terminal are in place. Sometimes the terminal falls off the spring.
2) Look at the coil for any signs of carbon traces along the plastic coil body or the high voltage insulator boot. If it's there make sure to clean it off.
3) Sometimes sparkplugs come with two contact tips, one short and one long (all the NGK's I've used recently came with only the tip on the plug which is pernament). I believe all the Acura's and Honda's use the long terminal tip.

I've always replaced the water pumps. Anti-freeze and brake fluid also very good to replace every 2-3 years, good preventive maintenance. However I've never replaced the power steering fluid on any Honda, IMO there's no reason to do so with the Honda racks and pumps.

Hmmm? I don't find an actual DIY either.
I did turn these up and there are some tips, but you've gotta sort through the threads (ignore the seat memory thread).

Didn't find a 3G DIY either.

I dont know if there is a DIY. Its pretty straight forward. Take off the engine cover, use a metric allen wrench to remove the coil and remove the spark plugs. The rears are the same. If you have a type s remove the 2 bolts that hold the IMRC motor on and swing out of the way. Once thats out of the way the rears can be accessed easier. It helps having a 6" and a 3" extension for this job.

Thank you for all those who help others.
I just finished changing spark plugs. It was easier with 3" & 6" extensions, as advised earlier.
I wanted to share my experience with NGK-ZFR5FIX-11. i noticed they were all not gapped properly to the 0.44 as recommended. Also watch out for one of the vacuum lines that is in the way and got pulled, which I didn't notice, until after I drove and found the idle rougher.

Hey small world, my 89 legend replacement water pump failed ~50K miles after replacement. Coolant began leaking from the inspection hole. Don't know for certain but my guess is that I used Prestone Antifreeze with it's large amount of silicates that cause the water pump seals to wear quickly. I never used to believe in OEM premixed anti-freeze until that, so now I used the premixed Honda stuff for all my Honda/Acura cars and motorcycle.
duly noted.

I must agree with tophjoe that the rear three are a major pain. I ended up removing the the two bolts and swinging aside the IMRC toward the passenger side and the bolt for the power steering hose to free up movement as necessary.

changing plugs - oil in chamber
Changing plugs on 04 TL 3.2 - 162,000 miles. Found Oil in the chamber...but plugs were a liitle loose. Any thoughts on how bad this is? Also the little end of the coil ripped off - do you need that ,if so where can I get just that
Thanks
Thanks
