I recently installed depo headlights and aimed them.

I aim the low beam and got them to lineup, but when I turn on drl/high beam.. left side is higher then right side. (sitting in car looking straight forward).

So I raise the right side so it line up with left side...but when I turn on lowbeam, left side is lower then right side.

Sorry for my english but anyone have fix for this?..

Left low Beam is Aimed Lower than Right to fight Glare...
Use your High Beams as Reference those should Aim even then Left side Low Beam would aim a little bit lower than Right not the Other way Around.

Low Beam = Lower than Right
High Beams = Even, The reflective housing should output kinda an "A" figure when facing a wall.

So dont use lowbeam as reference? Is that for every car or just 2g tl? and whats a good height to aim the highbeam? Thanks.

It's possible that you have one of the new lowbeam bulbs in the wrong "spot" . There are little bumps in the socket that are supposed to line up to notches in the bulb flange.

If you "miss" (not that difficult to do) the bulb will be crooked...and adjusting that headlamp would cause the highbeam aim to be incorrect.


Just a thought.

our diy section has the aiming guidlines,,
a certain distance from wall = height of center part of beam

driver side beam is set low and in, so you dont blind oncoming traffic
they fixate on the light,
where the eye goes the hands follow,,and the car turns..
right into you!

Pass side set long and slightly to the right, so you can see road edge lines and pedestrians farther ahead

Carbuff - yes i took both headlights out and put both lowbeam into the socket exactly the same way, so that isnt the problem.

Yup pretty much if you use it as Reference make sure the Drivers Side is lower than the Passenger.
I think most newer cars use that kind of setup, Even Projectors output (The Steps) start to go up to the passenger side when properly Aimed.

Ex:

Notice how Drivers side is aimed lower than the Passenger, This is not Necessary for High Beams since there´s No way to Stop Glare with those.
This is True even for our Reflective housings.

you should be on low beams when oncoming traffic approaches~
so glare and aim not as big an issue on high beams

Skirmich - thanks for the pic, thats exactly how my low beam look like and i thought it needed aiming lol..but i got it all work out now.
