Post Trying to find an IMRC

Hey, community, I am literally new to the site after getting so much help over the years I have had my TL- Type S, I finally was not so lazy to create an account and what not. Aside from that, I have been searching for what feels like forever for an Intake Manifold Runner Control since the type- s uses them opposed from base models. Would anyone happen to know WHERE I can buy one online and if the seller accepts PayPal as a form of payment, thanks a lot for all of your feedback over the years too my gratitude has been long since overdue!

What kind of car do you have? Like you said, the TL-S cars already have them. If you have a TL-P, then the IMRC alone won't do anything for you.

Sorry about that. I should have included the year or generation. It's a 2002.

Is yours broken or something? The IMRC valves break pretty often, but the IMRC module itself won't ever go bad.

It was recommended by the dealership because when the key is turned to acc 2 not started all the way a loud noise is heard. They diagnosed it as the imrc needing to be replaced

Dude that makes no sense. I don't know what the dealership is saying, but there has to be a misunderstanding somewhere. The IMRC doesn't make a noise when the key is turned, whether it's broken or not.

All you've told me is that you get a loud noise when you turn the key? Where is the noise coming from? What kind of noise? If you want some help, at least explain your problem.

I will have to listen and see exactly where the noise comes from when I get someone to turn the key for me. The noise, on the other hand, sounds like a churning noise I could take a video for a clearer description. Just wondering where I can upload it. I think because I am still in my trial period I cannot upload a quick vid? But I will have a video made for specifics.

This is so late and I do apologize for the untimeliness but I finally made a video of the sound that becomes audible upon tuning the vehicle to Acc II. Here is the link on youtube. I did the best I could seeing I couldn't get someone over at the time. But the noise is still very distinct. I can make another with an aerial view if need be at another date.

Looks like it was the imrc. Yeah common sense would have indicated to just pull the plug. Just wasn't really thinking. Know of anyplace cheaper than the dealership I may purchase one?

That's interesting that you ask. These IMRCs on our cars break very commonly, and yet there is no aftermarket piece. If you're not interested in the performance and just want to save some money, you can just leave it unplugged. If you want the extra HP from it, then you'd have to get an OEM one, or repair it.

You can get it new for ~$120 or used for ~$60. If you want to repair it, I can help you out with that. It's not too complicated, as you just have to rotate a gear 180 degrees.

In any case you wont see the gains until the car is above 5K so even then if you Daily Drive it you wont ever need it.
