I hear stories of people just swapping on their winter wheels and the TPMS "just works"

Is this because they RL auto-learns them? Or because it holds like 9 sensors (spare + two sets) and they forgot at some point the sensors were added in?

My understanding is that they auto-learn. As long as it's the right part, it should pick up any number of sets.

I concur, the RL auto learns new sensors when mounted on the car, I swap between my summer and winter set without a hitch and no lights come on.
