For legal reasons if you state that you have the tech package they won't list any replacements so just select that you don't have the tech package. I ended up going with a bridgestone runflat tires because I didn't want to deal with the doughnut and retrofitting the trunk for the spare. Anyhow the Bridgestone runflats are a very rough ride compared to the Michelins. I did notice a performance improvement with the new wheels tires though. I am glad I did it although I may be looking for a doughnut and trunk kit in the future.

Thanks Chas for all the great work you did on this topic !
I am trying to get my arms around this. If I order wheels on Tirerack with TPMS sensors I should be able to swap out PAX wheels? I don't need to get specific sensors?

You don't need specific TPMS sensors. They are the same for both wheels. You need new wheels, tires, and lug nuts. A spare tire for the trunk is a good idea as wheel.

Jack covered almost everything, and I merged it all together here: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-t...swered-883780/

Thanks for the quick reply! In the other thready it references that the TPMS must relearn. Is that when you reset it after correcting the pressure?

Also, why do you need special lug nuts? I guess the lug nuts from the Pax system only fits their wheel?

If I order through Tire Rack and ask for lug nuts will they fit by vehicle default? Do I need specific lug nuts?

Need help depaxing my 06 rl

hey guys im new to this site.. im sorry to bring up a topic that has been run threw a thousand times on this site but i just brought a 2006 rl with tech package and the tires are dry rotted like crazy and the car only had 58k original miles on it. this is probably why they are dry rotted it hasn't been driven.. but my question is i am trying to depax the car... i am looking at 2010 acura tl rims from a awd tl 245/45/18.. my research tells me that they should fit fine and clear the calipers but i just want to make sure. you guys know better then me.. also they come with the acura tl tire pressure sensors.. can i use those on the 2006 rl i have or can i use the ones that are currently on my car?

Welcome!! De-PAXing is a fairly common concern. It has been covered in one of the stickies in the 2G Garage:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-t...-786954/page2/

As far as the TL wheels, this topic has been discussed in the aftermarket wheel thread as well:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-t...806687/page11/

I went ahead and merged your thread with the general De-PAX discussion as well.

hey thanx for the reply.. i have looked threw the links and others and none tell me my answers really... they say the tl rims should work.. but also some say that i might need spacers.. also some say that i can use the same tps sensors that is in the acura now and some say that i have to change them.. and if thats the case the 2010 tl rims im buying has the sensors still in them.. i was wondering if i had to take those out or if they worked also with my car.. heres the pic of the rims im looking at with 245/45/18 tires..

^ Those wheels should fit but you'll have clearance issues on the front. I believe the solution was in fact 6mm spacers.
