Hi All,
New to the board. I just picked up my 2008 Carbon Grey Pearl RL with Tech package for 13k with 57, 341 miles. I gotta tell you it feels good to be in a Honda again. My car prior to this was a 2006 Silverstone 350z which was totaled . Prior to that was a 2005 RSX Type S. It was a hard decision in choosing my next car as I have children so getting another 2 seater would not make sense. So it was between a G35/G37 sedan with AWD 6MT or the Acura RL with SH-AWD. I could not find an Infiniti sedan with a manual, AWD and low mileage for the price I wanted. So I went with the RL and couldnt be happier. My only issue is that when compared to the Z or G sedan the RL does not seem to have much of a market for performance parts.
Anyway I'll be searching the board as to where I can find parts.
Thanks!

For performance if you mean speed boosting and stuff there's this guy who did this https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...-build-948452/ and a couple of other threads on here with talk of a turbo. but I've only seen proof of a super charger done. I believe I read in one about a garage in your area that does the supercharging job for around 3k.
Pictures in the photo section are always nice.

that means, everything that is possible on an Accord V6 or a TL is possible with the RL, albeit slight modifications as indicated above
you can check out www.rv6-p.com for our "headers"
the heads on our cars are cast into the block, and a catalytic converter sits RIGHT OFF the heads.
we replace the 2 primary cats with straight pipe found at RV6-P.com. they are called "pre-cat-deletes"
*EDIT*
oh chit, RV6-p store front closed???

remember, you have the SAME exact engine as the other cars in Honda's line up.

Congrats onebroke240sx. Nice pick up.
I took the RL into CarMax a few weeks back for the hell of it and they offered me $14500 for mines. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to keep mines. I know I won't be able to find anything comparable unless I spend big money so will just keep mine.

That's exactly why I picked the RL. The RL had the luxury I wanted and performance (really wish there was a manual option). The rear seats in the RL are huge! My twin boys fit with their car seats nooo problem.

Yes I came to the same conclusion. I really wanted to stay with Nissan/Infiniti as my personal car, but they were out of the range I wanted to spend. Plus I just bought a 2016 Honda pilot touring back in July and could not justify having two large car payments.

Not sure if it's related to the price dropping, but I have never seen so much RL's in my life recently. Before I would see about 1 every week, now I see about 1-2 per day and I finally saw another A-SPEC on the streets after 4 1/2 years of ownership..lol.

Onebroke240sx, I moved the original posts related to your new purchase into a whole new thread in the picture section of this forum. It seems like you have a few questions that need to be answered and I think this would give you a nice platform to post pictures and keep us updated on your car. On that note, posts of the new car!!!!
EDIT: Also, please contact me via PM if you'd like the thread name changed at all!

As as for the intake I'm debating between the cosmo racing intake or a k&n intake made for the 2004-2007 TL.

My stepson, who is almost at driving age, asked me me when I was getting the Z back. I looked at him and explained that it was totaled. So I won't be getting it back. His reply, "So you bought this?" I told him there is nothing wrong with this car! This car is cool too!
Thought I would share my old car before it was totaled.

LOVING the Z!!!! Shame it got totalled!! I remember when I was shopping I drove a liquid copper 350z. I didn't pursue it because I could tell it had been returned to stock and the owner wasn't being forthright with me imo.

Thanks man! Yeah, I'll miss her. I think it was a sign though to get a more practical car.

The RL intake can hardly be improved upon for performance. You could put a short ram intake on it for sound, but you will lose power. You could buy an aftermarket CAI, but you will spend all of that money for zero gain. The stock intake goes down from the filter into the resonator. From there, it goes below the battery and back up to the edge of the hood. If you want a more direct "CAI", you can cut the tubing near the bottom of the battery. That's all an AEM CAI will do.

So I decided to pick up the front underbody spoiler for the RL. Next week Ill get the rear and sides. My only problem is that the dealership does not have the sides in carbon grey pearl. I'd hate to have to buy it and spend more money to paint it. I've tried Acurapartspeople and no luck. I'll keep looking around, if any of you have any suggestions please let me know!

Well guys, I'm sad to say that my RL is totalled. I got into an accident last week (not my fault) and the insurance deemed it a total loss. Really too bad, the car still only had 67k miles on it.
I didn't even get to put on the Aspec front/rear bumper that I had purchased for the car. I may put it up in the market, the color is carbon grey pearl, brand new still in box.
