Galaxy S6 Bluetooth compatibility
#3
I hope to pair it up in about a week. I'm pretty sure it has 4.1 Bluetooth. I don't know how backward it's compatibility is, but I'm praying. I'll post the results once I try it. If anyone else beats me to the test, please let me know.

Heyy then maybe one of you brothers can give me some help as Im having this problem now. I have the 05 Acura Rl and my phone is a Galaxy Edge. My phone pairs with the car but not totally. When pairing is complete (and it stays paired) I don't get the set-up screen. If I get a call it rings through the car but If I answer it with my handset it wont go through the car and vice versa if I answer the call through my handset. If I want to make a call I have to use the car, cant use the handset. It seems like you guys got yours to work. Any help would be appreciated.

so that must mean my '10 has bluetooth, which would mean my note 5 will able to pair/connect? this would be great as i am downgrading from an '11 750lix and i was bummed as i thought there was no bluetooth. i use BT more than any other medium as far as car audio is concerned.

06 RL - Galaxy S6 not seeing HFL when pairing
Just received my fathers 2006 RL w/ tech package. It was the demo unit back at the dealer in 2006, so it has all the bells and whistles.
I am trying to connect my Galaxy S6 to the cars HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) to make/receive calls through the cars microphone and speakers.
However, when I get to the step "Searching for a bluetooth phone", my Galaxy S6 does not see the car when searching for devices. I tried again with an LG flex and that didn't see the cars Bluetooth either.
Is this a compatibility issue? (Acura doesn't have modern phones listed under compatible phones for 06 RL HFL)
Or could this be a HFL failure and I need to replace it?
Is there settings on the phone that I need to change (trusted device)?
I installed an USA SPEC BT45-ACU for Bluetooth media streaming, and the phone sees that fine. I would not think my BT45 interferes with HFL or its bluetooth connection, however.
Any suggestions?

Are you following the pairing instructions in the manual? I believe you have to activate the HFL command and say, "pair," or, "pair phone."
Proof the S6 pairs exists in the thread I am merging this post into in the Bluetooth sub-forum. Please try to search for a solution to your answer before starting a new thread.

Actually that won't work. You need to press 'talk' and say 'phone setup' or 'setup options'. Once it reads you the options, you say back the one you want including 'pair'.

I can't seem to pair my s6 to my 2007 TSX. I feel like i've tried everything but nothing works. s6 is not on the list of compatible phones. I find this so hard to believe! I'ts been out almost 2 years now. How could they not update their cars ability to connect with the most popular phones? seems unlikely. So I feel like I'm doing it wrong even tho I'm following directions precisely. wondering if there's a setting on my phone I need to change. Never had a problem when i've rented cars on vacation. frustrating!!

Just to confirm for you that it probably isn't the issue, I have the USA SPEC BT45-ACU and I use it and the HL at the same time, so they do not interfere with each other. However, once paired, only one will connect automatically, I have to select the other one manually. I had a hard time initially pairing my Note 5 to HL. I think I remember that the instructions in the manual were missing a step.
