Nextel i870:
This phone works in my RL, however there is no signal strength or Battery indicator.
HOWEVER!!! I was shocked to find that the Nextel Direct Connect works!
You still have to press the PTT button on the phone, but the speaker and mic in the car take over for the phone. I was under the impression that the Direct Connect would not work with the BlueTooth stuff.
Very cool!

Curious if anyone else had the same lack of success with the Cingular 2125. It pairs, I can dial out, but if I answer an incoming call with the HFL, the other party can hear me, but I can't hear them.
It's odd to me that it doesn't work, since most other HTC built phones work, and it should have the same bluetooth stack as the TMobile MDA reported to work here.

Blackberry 8700c
I want to add the Blackberry 8700c to the list of the RL's HandsFreeLink bluetooth compatible phones. All HFL functions work 100% as advertised. Compared to the other three phones I have used with the car's HFL, the 8700 is the best, IMO.
One thing to note; There have been a few reports of 8700's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting to the HFL system after being paired. If you are experiencing this then the bluetooth radio in your 8700 is probably bad and you need to replace your phone. The HFL unit in the RL is fine, it is the phone that needs to be replaced.

Cingular 8125 works fine. No Bat or Signal strength on the MID, also no data connection (at least I could not get it to work). Seems like this is the same for all of the PDA phones.

Motorola v557 Cingular experiences?
Hi.
Anyone have Mot v557 experiences (preferably Cingular) to report?
Cingular no longer offer v551 and I want the v557 for it's EDGE data capability.
If you do have v557, does Acura Link data connection work okay with it?
Thanks.

S-E z520a works fine
I've been using my S-E z520a from Cingular with the 2G RL's Bluetooth with no problems.
Signal Strenth reports fine, Battery reports fine. Always shows Roaming through... even when in Home Area.

I have Verizon service and an LG 8300 phone. I was wondering what everyone thinks of the HFL? I can hear people fine, but people constantly complain about how bad I sound, and I am thinking that there may be something wrond with my HFL. Any thoughts?

I can tell you that my Moto E815 sounds fair, but my friends RAZR sounds great on the same HFL system (and others onthis site have said the same thing), so I would guess it is the phone before it is the HFL. I plan to get rid the E815 even with its better reception and get the KRZR just so people can hear me better on the HFL and bluetooth headset.
Just my 2 cents

Nokia E61 Works, no batt or signal
Recently picked up a Nokia E61 unlocked from ebay (Qwerty keyboard, blackberry-looking device). This model is very similar, but not quite the same, as the recently introduced E62 from Cingular. I suspect the E62 will work the same as my E61.
While I do not get signal or battery strength in the MID, the phone's bluetooth connection to my '05 RL works just fine.

KRZR from Cingular works - signal and battery strength visible on the MID
I received my KRZR from Cingular last night. The phone paired flawlessly with the HFL and connected to the AcuraLink server without a problem. Both signal strength and battery strength are visible in the MID. So far it's a great phone and I'm very happy with it. Much better reception and call quality than the RAZR.

I just got an 8525 on Cingular (or is it at&t again? - meh!!) and it works great. As with other windows Mobile phones, no singal strength or battery level. And I have never been able to connect to the AcuraLink server with any WinMo phone, including this one.

I have Verizon Treo 700w. Works pretty well, but No Battery or Sig strength. However, after installing OS update MKU2, I have to soft reset the phone everyday or it stops pairing with car.

Incoming Call - Displays a new call on the screen and you can accept it accordingly with out messing with the phone itself.
Outgoing Call - Can use the HFL to place the call. Immediately the Handsfree Pairing on the phone stops. On the phone click Menu -> Handsfree Set ON and then it works through the HFL.
Call Waiting - Does not come through and you are not notified someone is calling in.
So...yes and no...I spent 1.5 hours on a conference call I dialed into through HFL. For me to press Menu -> Handsfree Set On from the phone is worth it than not working at all as you see with some of the other units.

Samsung Blackjack and HFL Compatability
I just got a Samsung Blackjack. The HFL website lists the phone as not being compatible with the HFL because it failed the hang up from HFL test (it passed all other basic functionality tests) In addition, the Blackjack does not display battery or signal strength (given that it is a WM5 device that's not a shock)
I've used it both to send and recieve calls and it has worked well. In fact, I have always been able to hang up the phone via the HFL controls.
There is one caveat, it seems like when the phone has not been connected to the Acura HFL for a long time, I need to turn the phone on and off and let it reconnect to the Acura. If I do not the phone willstill esatblish a bluetooth connection with the HFL (though I think that it is not a good connection) but the end result is that I am unable to dial out. To be specific, I instruct the HFL to dial, it seem to attempt to but nothing happens on the phone. After the attempt, the phone seems to lose the BT connection ( the headset icon on the phone disapears) until I hit the connect button on the HFL system.
I have not realy been able to coorelate exactly what scenerio causes this need to reboot the phone, does anyone else have any input ?
Thanks !
PS.... for the most part, the Blackjack realy works well with the Acura HFL (as long as you can live without battery and signal indicators)

Got my wife-to-be a Nokia 6133 from T-Mobile a few months ago. Paired it with my RL last week -- signal strength, battery indicator AND Acura Link all work.... I just ordered one for myself to replace my Nokia 6103, which just happened to get a broken video screen the other day...
