1st gen TPMS vs 2nd gen TPMS
has anyone been able to confirm if the TPMS from the 1st gen will work with the 2nd gen RDX?
makes it much easier as there are a few 1st gen wheel/tire combos for sale that can be used for winters.
thanks.

Wouldn't a quick call at the parts dept at the Acura Dealer be able to confirm?

^^ That sort of surprises me...from my experience with the dealer where I buy my vehicles from, these guys are really good. I don't live in the same city where the dealer is (4h away), otherwise I'd stop by and ask for you. I am sure someone here has the answer but time will tell I guess....

Oh no! I thought I could use my winter wheels/tires/TPMS from my old RDX on the new 2015.
Tires are not quite the same (got to change that), TPMS won't fit (got to change that), only thing left is wheels (I hope they'll fit).

I agree that most parts people at dealers are not always that up on the "tougher" questions.
I am confidant that if you called Tire Rack and talked to one of the sales specialists...they will have the answer. They sell TPMS sensors and have to stay very current on these issues.
Been doing business with them for many years....and truly...outstanding knowledge and service. I have bought tires, wheels and sensors from them over the years.

Any luck in using 08 TPMS on your new 15 RDX ?
I have the similar situation, moving from 1st gen to 2nd gen RDX.
Parts dealer says not same and that was it for him.
Your experience ?

I bought a new set of TPMS and had them installed at my local dealer. Sold the first generation TPMS on Kijiji. I did not try the first generation TPMS on my 2015 RDX. Dealer said it was different as mentioned above...

Tx for the reply.
I put my old tires on newer RDX.
At first, TPMS was OK, but now get Error message after 1 day !
Oh well, so much for a simple solution.
Now have to decide if worth installing newer sensors or just ignore signal. Urghh !

I know this thread is quite dated now, but I wanted to share my two cents.
I recently bought new wheels for my 2013 Acura RDX and they are currently in transit. Because I have new wheels, I moved my OEM 2013 Acura RDX wheels (and TPMS sensors) to my 2007 Acura RDX. For about 10 days, the sensors worked and communicated with the computer system fine. However, now the TPMS light is on and none of the sensors are reading.
It's quite odd because in the in the meantime, while I wait for my new wheels to arrive, I put my 2007 RDX wheels (and TPMS sensors) onto my 2013 Acura RDX. The computer system is still reading the 2007 TPMS sensors properly.

I can tell you from first hand experience that 1st gen sensors do not work with 2nd gen computers and vice versa. While I thought that the systems were working properly, I later found out that it was basically just a timing delay. After a while, the computers will catch up and realize that they cannot locate the correct sensors and throw a TPMS code. The same thing happened on both models.
