Squashed Driver Seat
I know this may sound weird, but does anyone else have a driver's seat that looks squashed; like it's collapsed from too much weight and hasn't rebounded? I'm talking about the part of the seat under the left thigh?
I bought my RDX used and it didn't bother me when I finished testing the electrical; it was just a cosmetic thing with the seat cushion. A replacement isn't expensive, just the labor, but definitely not mandatory for me since the electrical is all in working order, but...
It just looks weird. AND, it seems to be kinda common. I sometimes see the squashed seat/side in photos of used RDXs when I surf used car sites.
Is this happening to your car? What is this from?

What is the mileage on your RDX and was the previous owner super chunky?
Unfortunately the left bolster being like that is VERY common in cars with higher mileage. I wonder if this is the case with vehicles that have adjustable bolsters.

The first thing I noticed in my 2016 RDX loaner was that the seats feel flat and squishy, although comfy. Yes, the sides seem to compress like the photos the OP mentions, although I'm too light to flatten any seat that much.
A couple of weeks ago I had a new KIA Sorrento, and I was surprised at how much firmer and tighter the seat felt compared to the RDX. It felt like it was better made, but not necessarily more comfortable. The RDX seats remind me a bit of the springy seat the school bus drivers had when I was a kid.

the DYI fix would be to add a layer of cushion to the seat bottom

Mine is starting to look like that and the plastic is making noise (left thigh side), 2014 with 49,300K on it.

Replaced cushion
In case anyone has the squashed seat issue: I just had cushion replaced, and the seat is back to "normal" shape. I kept the same seat cover, but labor and part for where I live came to about $400. I'm not much of a DIY-er anymore, so it wasn't a hassle for me to pay. I went to an independent shop.
