Rattle from rear passenger door

Hi all,

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen yet -

I get a rattle sound coming out of my passenger side door once I get above 60kms/hr. It's gets stronger as I go faster and almost sounds like an air leak but there is definitely no air leaking through the door.

Unfortunately I've just past the warranty mark as well (82K) so no taking it to acura.

Anyway, has anyone experienced this issue? Also, has anyone actually tried removing the cover panels off the doors yet? I've done many in my younger days on civics and integras but these seem to have a tighter seal and I don't want to mess it up.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Is this with the rear windows down? If I drive at those speeds with the rear windows down it makes an awful noise from the wind, like something is flapping around.

Rattle from rear passenger door

Check the door striker along the door jamb to make sure that's not loose. Also invest in some shin-etsu grease and clean the rubber seals around all your doors prior to applying.

Hi Rosen,

No this is with windows up. I am familiar with the noise you are referring too. You need to have another window open so the air can flow through.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, door strikers are fine. Its definitely something inside the door. I think i will need to remove the interior panel and check while driving.

Apologies for reviving a year old thread.

I have a new-to-me 2013 RDX w/Tech and am experiencing this same issue. Were you able to get a resolution for this noise?

Thanks in in advance for any suggestions.

I have a faint rattle coming from, I believe, the inside of the passenger's side lower B-pillar trim. The trim panel is hitting something under it just slightly to give an annoying rattle. The speeds and bumps will sometimes do it and sometimes not. I don't know the exact criteria needed to make it happen, it just happens sometimes and annoys me. I have a plan to eliminate it though.

When I purchased new the rattle wasn't there. Then had the dealer install the illuminated door sills. Part of the install is to remove the lower B-pillar trim - the rattle only started to occur after this was put on.

I had a rattle and it was also the panel on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel - if memory serves it is held on with a couple of screws and a handful of plastic rivets. It would rattle over 40 mph. You can reach under the car and tap it to see if it's loose.
