2014 Muffler

Has anyone changed just the rear muffler on their 2014 RDX to get just a bit more sound from the exhaust?
Thanks

you dont need a 2014 RDX to tell you that you can.

go to an exhaust shop, pick out a muffler and ask them to install it!
magnaflow is pretty common.

I was thinking of adding exhaust to my RDX (2014) as well. I like the engine note but want to add to the outside sound. Does anyone have a link to their modded rdx exhaust? Would like to hear it if possible? Thanks.

I have the same interest for my 2015 RDX. I took a look in other vehicles forums sharing similar engines to the RDX, such as the TL forums, and found a lot of how-to modify your existing exhaust system as many of the parts of the V6 3.5L systems are similar in terms of sound control before you reach the rear mufflers of the system.

Check out the TL section. You'll find a couple of great posts in their discussing various "Stages" of modification, including deletion of the mid-muffler, switching-out of the stock resonator for a dynomax resonator.

Summary - seems that most owners who are looking for a little more sound just have a muffler shop delete the mid-muffler and weld a pipe in it's place and call it a day at that. I'm considering giving it a try. If it sounds bad, they can always weld the mid-muffler back in place.

I have spoken with ATLP exhaust on Facebook i asked them if they would make one for a 2014 and up and they stated how many are in your group that would like a exhaust system i stated that i dont know i was just asking.

ATLP : Hi! We had not planned it but we can. How many interested parties are there that you might know of?

Me: Im not too sure how many but theres been talks on acura forums asking so i just wanted to talk to the source to see if it was possible
Ill have to ask to see how many folks would be interested in one

Me: Hi ATLP how much it would cost for a full system or just the muffler exhaust thanks and hope to hear from you guys

ATLP : If we made one it would be in the $1100 range. I would need to get at least 10 interested parties to make it happen though.

Me: I see ill keep you guys updated

For a muffler, I recommend the Magnaflow if you want a nice deep and throaty sound. Another option is the Borla which will sound good as well.

I have the ATLP quads on my 2014 TL SH and it sounds bad ass. I also have Xlr8 j pipe with 3rd cat delete and CT icebox intake. It definitely brought the car alive. $1100 isn't too bad considering mine was $1600. Marcus at heeltoe automotive is a friend and great to do business with. I've asked him if he was planning to have any aftermarket parts made for the 2nd gen RDX. If this was to happen I'm sure he would use my 16' RDX as the test vehicle since he isn't too far away from me.

Like mentioned above, a lot of the 4G TL members that don't run a full brand name exhaust have swapped mufflers (manga flow, flow master and Borla) as well as swap tips to bigger quads such as 3.5"-4" tips.

If you are curious how it may sound, check out YouTube. It'll sound similar to the FWD TL. I know the 1st gen RDX has ATLP exhaust as an option but that's for the 2.3L turbo.

Old post but... any updates?

If I were to do mine I'd first remove the mid pipes resonator. That should give it a little burble. Should be fairly cheap too.
