2013-2015 RDX rear signal LED conversion - success / no hyper flashing

As some of you know from this thread :

https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...equest-937048/

I found the Phillips vision LED to work perfectly for our tails...so why not our rear signals also? After all they are 7443.... So I decided to test them out. And YES! Works great - no hyper flashing or resistor crap. and of course, no errors on dash!!!

Videos : (better quality videos coming day/night)

Philips LED driver side , regular halogen passenger side

Both sides LED

Gotta install resistors to fix it.

Wish the 2017 RDX's had LED rear turn signals like the front signals. I thought about swapping to LED turn signals but it was too much work to gain access to the bulb.

I just came here to look for a DIY to access the rear turn signals. I want to put chrome amber bulbs to hide the orange but don't see how you would access the bulbs. Why would they do that when incandescent bulbs will eventually burn out? I have never seen a car with no access to bulbs like this. You can easily get to the license plate and reverse lights....

Ok just figured it out. There is a small plastic panel just outside the rear door seal which pops off and two philips head screws come out then the light pops off. Very easy to do once you realize how it is attached.

I used the Zevo with load resistors. Minor PITA, but it worked out great. The fronts are a completely different story. I can't sufficiently access the wiring and have no idea how to remove the headlamp housing (which is really the only way I can get it done).

Has anyone tried to add a LED third brake light from a 16+ RDX to a 13-15 RDX? The housing size looks the same.

Also, What brand of LED are you using for License plate and brake light?

I used the Philips 7443 in My brake lights and the radio hisses when the brake is applied.I e-mailed Philips to tell Them about the problem. They said yes, that can happen. So the Philips lamps sit in My basement.I bought led's from ebay that work fine.

Here's a helpful video explaining resistors, how to install them, etc etc

Most vehicles will require resistors when replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs in turn signal locations. There are a few rare exceptions, but all Acura vehicles will hyperflash without them installed.

Thanks!

That would be annoying haha. So I am going to install LED in my brake lights and then also do the LED with resistor (thanks Diode). But, I have been looking at the 16+ RDX and the high mount brake light is a LED strip and looks similar in size to the 13-15 RDX. So I may just order one from Acura and try to swap it out.

Curious to see if you ever ordered the third high LED brake light and if it is compatible

So stupid question for our 2Gen RDX folks, which colored wire do we need to wire the resistors too?
I have combed over these forums for over two years and never found that info.

This is a load resistor, it is installed in the circuit to increase the load, and not lower the voltage, so it is placed in parallel.

Specifically what I was looking for was the colors of the wires it needs attached too. I understand the principle and had them installed on my 12 Pilot.

If the Mitchell diagram is correct, then the resistor should be set like this.

Unfortunately the one I need is not for the rear lights, it's for the front turn signals (colored wires or labeled wires would of even more help). I appreciate everyone's input.
