Will RDX soon have forward 360 degree cameras?
I'm 70 y/o and am thinking of leasing an RDX. I currently own a 2005 TL and previously a 2002 TL Type S. I loved them both but want/need something that sits higher (I'm 6'3") and don't need three rows of seats. I like the backup camera but I see other makes have forward cameras and even 360 degree cameras. I'm leaning toward leasing since, at age 70, I don't expect/want to keep a new car for 12 years again.
Any advice?

I think you're gonna want to look more into the luxury sedans like the RLX that have those type of technologies. Or something like a Subaru with their "EyeSight" technology. EyeSight

Usually Acura is done upgrading a vehicle after the mid model change (MMC). Acura "might" upgrade the tech on the 17-18 RDX; but, the most they will do is maybe add a one different color combos. The +17 MDX is a peak of what the 3rd gen RDX in 2019/2020 most likely look like and the level of tech available. I haven't look close enough to see if the +17 MDX has surround or 360 degree camera standard on all levels or just tech and above. It is strange because my neighbor across the street has a newer Honda Fit with surround cameras while my none of my Acura do?
You might have to check into Honda for the surround cameras until Acura can get caught up.

Thanks...but not going into the $50Ks+ for a sedan. Would prefer a Ford Explorer but don't really want one. I've had two Explorers and much prefer the Acura brand/dealership.

So am I to understand that the 2017 RDX with the "tech" package has a 360 degree camera? Sorry...I've only had one as a loaner car and don't know all the options/packages,

The only info I've seen was on the Acura page for the 17 MDX hybrid: "Surround-View Camera System with six selectable viewing angles". I don't know if the cameras are available for the hybrid, advance, and/or tech levels. It might only be a hybrid or Advance model option.

No, the 2017 rdx does not even have around view cameras available. The 2017 mdx does, but possibly only on the higher trims. Go check out the nissan rogue and murano, they both have surround view cameras available, and IMHO the murano is nicer than the rdx by a large margin and is cheaper to boot.

You know I thought so too originally, but it has really grown on me. The front is still a little polarizing to me though. But the interior makes up for it. The new rx on the other hand....just gross.

Not into Nissans...don't care for their appearance. Maybe I'll just g'head and lease a 2017 RDX and hope for surround cameras on a not too distant future model.

I'm curious if camera sensors would pick up flying debris and if and how the car will react...
ive seen a wheel and tire fly across a divider into the windshield of an oncoming car...really sucks

'12 RR Evoque to the RDX Advanced '16...
I love the way the RDX drives, Great gas mileage for a vehicle this size. However, I was disappointed to find it deficient in 2 areas, side camera and non electric folding outside mirrors. It's very hard to see the wheels when parking next to curbs. I have extra special wheels and they're scratched up because of no camera views when parallel parking. I've been thinking of paying to have the scratches taken out, but without a side camera, it would probably just happen again. Re the folding outside mirrors, I slight scratched up one of them backing out of the garage. Yes, I know I can manually fold them, but that's PITA.
I believe I could have gotten both of these options on the MDX, but it was too long for my garage setup and about $10K higher to boot.
