Acura RDX Bluetooth issues
I have a 2015 Acura RDX with tech package and I am having all sorts of Bluetooth issues. My phone doesn’t have any issues connecting, however once the phone is connected and I am on a call, it cuts in and out. For example, I will be on a call, and it will get off Handsfreelink for a few seconds and comes back. This occurs multiple times during a call. Is anyone else having this issue? I tried to reset my iPhone settings, and the problem appeared fixed for a couple of days, however then it started again. Any other recommendations? Of course the dealer blames Apple.

Having same issue here. Haven't driven my rdx 2013 tech in a few weeks. I'm on iPhone 6plus with latest software. Not seeing this issue on other car with kenwood system. Wonder if some kind of new software incompatibility.

Delete the phone from the car. Delete the car from the phone. Reboot the phone. Once rebooted, re-pair the phone to the car. Make sure that other unused phones are deleted from the car.

Hi Ceb,
I have tried that, however that works for a couple of days and then the issue starts up again. With that being said, is there a long term solution? Please advise.
Thanks,
Nikesh

I have restarted my phone settings and have repaired my bluetooth and I am still experiencing the same issue. While on the call, with my iPhone 6 Plus, the call will go in and out for about a few seconds and then come back. It occurs multiple times throughout the call. Any other advice? Could this be an issue with the car?

Now that you mention it, I am having the same problem with my iPhone 6. I thought I was passing through areas of poor coverage. The call will drop out and then immediately re-connect. I never had a problem with my iPhone 5. I don't know if the problem is with my phone, software, or car. My RDX is a 2013 with Tech.

I've upgraded my iphone 6 plus to 8.2 in the hopes it would improve the problem I was having with calls dropping from bluetooth for 30 secs or so and then coming back on my Acura 2013 RDX tech package.
Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. I lost siri eyes free.
Any suggestions?

I have been having the same issues since I bought my 2015 in February. Would love to know how to fix this. When talking to someone they say it is fuzzy on their end of the call also. My navigation has never worked right!

I have the same problem with my 2014 RDX Tech and an iPhone 6. The Handsfree Link drops and then pops back in. It often interrupts my call and confuses me about whether the phone totally disconnected or not. Annoyed and looking for a fix. Dealer has no suggestions beyond those listed above.

Got my '16 in early August. The HFL mic died on me within two weeks. Took it to the dealer, they inspected and confirmed that the mic was dead. Replaced under warranty at no cost, it now works fine.
Not saying that all of you are having the same issue I did, but having the dealer check it out might not be a bad idea. Note that replacing individual components of the HFL system is impossible; a dead mic or faulty transmitter means the entire module has to be replaced. As such, some dealers may be somewhat resistant to admitting there is a problem.

I'm having the same issue....but i'll put in a service request on my next oil change... having just finished replacing both front struts under warranty I really don't feel like trekking out to the dealership for this issue.

Are you getting calls from the same number when you experience the cutting in/out?
When a workmate calls, only her phone call to me cuts in and out...everyone else is connected fine.

same issue also..
got the dealer to replace the Bluetooth module/HFL unit...BUT the RDX has been parked awaiting recall parts so I haven't had a chance to test it. I doubt its fixed though...

Bluetooth seems pretty haphazard in general. I have an HTC One M9 phone and two identical Plantronic Legend earpieces. They both respond differently to the phone. One works just fine. The other drops the connection to the phone at random, causing the phone to revert to its internal microphone system.
On my '16 RDX Advance, the Bluetooth connection seems to disconnect when a text or email comes in to the phone. The Bluetooth status in the NAV display disappears for about 20 seconds, the icon for a message posts, I get a notification I can't do anything about that I have an incoming message, and the Bluetooth connection resumes. If I'm streaming music from the phone to the RDX's audio system, the music stops for the duration, too. I have the feeling this is intentional rather than an error, as the phone pauses the music playback during this time rather than continuing to play during the outage.

Hmm ...believe it or not my issues of random disconnects have vanished since I updated to Marshmallow v6.0.1. Previously every time I made a phone call there was a guaranteed disconnect....now since the update and mind u only about 5 calls so far but no disconnects.
Phone : Samsung note 4
I will see how it goes.

It's hard to tell if it's the vehicle, the OS or the phone. I just upgraded to an HTC 10 from an M9, both of which had Marshmallow. So far, all the bluetooth issues I was having on the M9 appear to have been solved.

New to me 07 rdx tech here; prior owner disconnected Hfl to stop parasitic battery drain. How hard is the module replacement, and do you suppose Acura would warranty the part in a DIY install situation? Thanks!

Didn't read through the rest of the thread, but I think I've narrowed this down to other Acura's or Vehicles with the same digital pin and possibly very close profiles interfering with each other. This problem happens in other cars too... The best possible advice is probably to delete the phone and re-pair it. Some newer models can change the pairing key too.

Bumping this, both the wife and I have S6 Edge +. We have had the car for almost exactly 1 year. A few months back this started and it happens on either phone. We have gone so far as to make a warranty claim on her phone after multiple wipes, unpair/delete from car tries. I rarely drive the car and talk on the phone but over the holidays when out of town I was using it and had the same thing with my phone. I can almost guarantee it's not another phone in the vicinity interfering. One time when it happened I was on an empty road miles from anyone or any potential interference.
I'm hoping someone out there has found a solution.
FYI it's a 2016 Base model.

bluetooth intermittent
Hi All:
I have 2013 RDX - not technology package- blue tooth always worked until my newest iPhone SE got updated to iOs 10 (10.2.1 to be exact.) The blue tooth connects and disconnects constantly. I have deleted all, rebooted, re-paired, even restored iPhone, etc etc. to no avail. My wife also has an iPhone SE, same iOs as mine, and for kicks, I paired that with my Hands-Free Link in the RDX and it stayed connected. I have called Acura technical assistance and they suggested changing one setting on the iPhone, but no difference. This is driving me nuts with the screen flashing "connected" then "disconnected" every couple of minutes. I bought a BMR 2-speaker blue tooth kit from Amazon for $25.00 and it works, but obviously does not have the capabilities and convenience of the built in Acura Hands-Free Link. Has anyone had or solved this issue since iOs 10 ?? Thanks

I have a 2015 base and an iphone 6 and my problems are the car thinks I am on a all when I amnot and unable to 'hang up'- I have to power off my phone to disengage it and when I go to call someone, music streams in the background! I have unpaired the car and phone. Acura just blamed it on owning an iPhone.

I've had an issue where when I pick-up an incoming call, it will pickup on the handset and not on the handsfree system. It also won't transfer to to the handsfree system, though it is connected. Once I reset the phone it works for a couple of days, but then stops. I have an Iphone 7 running the latest version of IOS. It's very frustrating.

2017 here as well. I have the issue when a call comes in through the car I answer the call but it kicks back to my phone instead of bluetooth so I have to quickly select bluetooth on my phone to get it back on. I will try re-pairing to see if that helps any.

Having trouble streaming music
Hello,
I have 2018 Acura RDX and the Bluetooth on the car is allowing me only to use my phone. I am unable to stream music from my phone through Acura's Bluetooth. Anyone has any idea why?
