Tranny Talk

Here in Portland, we have 2 Acura dealerships, i called both yesterday to see how much $ to flush and fill my tranny, as a precautionary measure.

Dealer #1, $119, guy says it's not a bad idea although they havn't seen any trans. problems.

Dealer #2, $139, guy says he has never replaced a trans. in a CL! Basically said car needs no service until 30k. I thought i saw someone saying something about a 15k service? Anyway I told #2 about the mods on my car. He said since i have springs he couldn't do anything about squeeks or rattles{have none yet}.Also said if drivetrain was to break Acura would have to prove that it was caused by mods B4 they could deny warranty coverage.

Has anyone w/ same mods as me lost a trans.? Did the dealer give you any shit. Any input appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!

My Dealer says.....

Funny............Gary Force Acura, just outside of Nashville, told me the same thing. "Ah, nope........we haven't had any replacement trannies here". Wonder if Acura is keeping it under wraps. Makes me want to start thrashing mine now (15K & 16 mos old) so it for sure breaks BEFORE I'm out of warranty. Good luck after it expires!

they probably wouldn't say anything even if there were trannies being replaced because it would be bad business for them. You might a potential customer who may not purchase or might tell somebody not to purchase because of a bad transmission in CLs.

Well I have a question What would happen if you made your own intake and took out all that crap below stock intake and your tranny blew..would they give you any crap about having a home made intake...Also I was thinking about cutting out the muffler just before the dual exhaust...would that be voiding the tranny warranty or any warranty? thanx 4 your help...When the hell are they going to make a new transmission for us cause this is stupid.

I just have to make one comment. That is the best name I have ever heard! I almost think that guy should be a comic book hero. Gary Force to the rescue!

What would his superpower be? His name makes me picture him flying through the air in a blue jumpsuit and an orange cape with one arm punching through the air ahead of him and the other curled up by his chest like some kinda superman picture.
