D5 Flashing...
so just when i thought everything was going fine with my used CL-s, the D-5 flashes maybe...once a week and whenever you switch to another gear it just stays flashing. One time i stoped at a stop sign and put it in park and restarted my car and it went away, soo basically im woundering if i should really worry about the trans or is it just electrical....

Mines started doing the same thing. I had it checked out and they told me it was the Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor which was like $70. OBDII Code 0710

you guys are waiting that long to change the fluid, wow i get mine changed about once a year, there is only a screen filter is these transmissions and its not changed when the fluid is replaced, so it has to be done more often. no wonder your trans is doing weird things, and also seeing as that auto trans on the cl runs hotter then normal it tends to burn the fluid fater. also remember to use only honda fluid nothing else, if you do it will ruin the clutches in the trans, i heard that it will melt the glue that holds the clutches to the metal and they come clean off.

Heya, same thing here. Flashing D5, had the code checked and its a bad ATF temp sensor. Cost me $75 just for that :-/
Anyways, I was quoted $400 to replace the sensor. I asked the tech what are the implications of NOT replacing the sensor, since they told me it was still OK to drive the car with the flashing D5. He told me that the D5 light would continue flashing, and said there is nothing wrong with the transmission.
This does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I don't want to pay $400 to stop a stupid light from flashing, if that is all it really does...

if you dont change it the car will try to stay in a higher gear longer than it needs to be.. thinkin it needs to warm itself up.
also earlier someone said theres a screen filter in these trannies.. well there is a fiber filter inside like most trannies but you have to take the tranny apart to get to it. so your kind of right by sayin theres no filter.
oh yea use only honda ztf tranny fluid. or redline (i heard it works pretty good)

[QUOTE = Reggienoah1238; 15976095] En D5 mi mdx comenzó a parpadear, ¿alguien sabe qué está pasando / sucediendo? [/ QUOTE]
my 2004 Mdx has the same problem, but I don't know what I can do, I replace the spark plugs, egr valve, belt and continue flashing I don't have more money for repair my car the mechanic told me is the battery because the battery don't have the correct percent for the electricity of the car need but I don't know, you find the problem in your car?
