If we could please make a list here giving the following information I believe it would be beneficial to members who would like to print a list of verifiable transmission replacements to show their dealers we aren't making this stuff up.
Year Model of car
Full Name
Town, State
Number of transmission failures?
Example:
2001 CL TypeS
Joe Smith
Anytown, AZ
One trans failure @ ____ miles
The goal of this is for ACL users to be able to present more than just a pretty colored graph to any dealer employee who tries to deny/downplay the extent of the transmission issue.
Feel free to just put your first initial and last name (or first name, last initial) for a bit of online privacy. The dealers should still be able to verify you against records kept at a dealer in your area as to whether or not you've had a trans replacement.
Thank you for your help and participation in this.

-And the next one at 55K....
Currently I have 58K mi on the sucker and am looking to sell. Any takers? Yeah, I thought not.
On a positive note: Sunnyvale Acura (in good old NoCal) has been very gracious. So much so, I am still considering buying another Acura. Good guys there.

Joni and Roy have been great through the entire event.
I bought a 2005 TL Navi last June 05 from Landers. Acura customer care gave me a 100k $0 deductible warranty just to keep me with Acura. I kept the 2001 CL type S and have 156K (18k on reman transmission) on the car now. I like the car and just don't accept that the transmission may fail again.
The 2005 TL was destroyed in a fire Jan 2006 with 18,500 miles on it. It seems that getting a bed mattress stuck under the car at 70 mph can cause a fire that is very had to put out. The first fire truck put 750 gallons of water on it and called for a second truck. The car burned for over 1 hour. Only the right front wheel center cap was salvageable.
Now we have a 2006 TL Navi that actually seems a slightly better car than the 05.
I am sure Joni and Roy will do all that is possible to get Acura to pay all the costs to replace the transmission if needed. They are the reason I have continued to buy Acuras.
