Missing My CL-S

I have the H&R sports on the stock struts. i've had them for over a year and the ride is surprizing almost the same (and i drive downtown everyday). i love the look of the drop too. i do recommend doing struts at the same time to save a labour cost if you're not changing them yourself, but if you're like me and didn't /don't have the $$$ to buy good struts, you'll be ok on the stocks. when these go i plan on some koni yellows

2. Tires are bad ass. Definitely great grip and awesome wet weather performance. A little below the SO3 Poles. Needs about a mile or two to warm up though. These tires cold can lead you to some trouble. Tread life sucks, but what can you expect from a 200 AA A tire?

Blown is Best
Comptech/Eibach springs
Tokico Illumina's set at #4
SPC Camber kits front and rear
Neuspeed Sways - 27mm front and 25mm rear (race bar)
Comptech Titanium Strut Bar
OZ Superleggera 17X8 48mm ET (17.6lbs wheels)
Goodyear F1 GS-D3's 235/45-17 front - 38psi, rear - 35psi
Pretty firm ride. Very stable at high speeds and braking. A bit of understeer currently. Need to pull a little negative camber out of rear to make it more neutral.
Very pleased with the current setup.

i'm looking at some 18x7.5 wheels with +43 offset. would it be safe to use a 45 series tire on a CT drop? would there be any rubbing with the dimensions 235/45? or would do i have to use the 225/40 with the wheel size mentioned? i pretty much would like to have the 18x7.5 wheels with 235/45 to fill in the wheel well. but don't want to deal with rubbing. i guess my options are also 235/40 or 225/40.

so can i just add sway bars? none of my stock parts need to be replaced, not that i entirely understand what you guys are talking about (will google suspension for dummies later)
and someone mentioned compensating for the odd weight ratio - i hope that this did not involve sand bags in the trunk.
and i realized the other day what i miss about my integra - it felt fast even thought i was not going particularly fast. whereas with the CL-S, I am actually going pretty damn fast but cant really 'feel' it. so i am guessing that the suspension and weight distribution are the places to start.
thanks all - this forum is great. what i lack in CL knowledge i can make up for in old mercedes knowledge if anyone would find this helpful - just not suspensions

Im trying to decide on springs for my car. I just got an anthricate 6 speed coupe with navi and no spoiler...17000 miles!!! Anyway, i measured the wheelgap in the front and back and it looks like about 3 inches in front and 2 1/2 in the back. Id like to lower it about 1.5 up front and 1 inch in the back for an even drop. I don't want to go too low, i want to keep close to factory ride height, and i want to keep my factory shocks for now. The best I've seen is the Tanabe NF210s...1 inch up front and 1/2 in the back and its only like 5-10% increased spring rate. DOES ANYONE HAVE THESE? does anyone know of any comparable springs that might work for me? these are the Tanabes, any opinions?

The setup isn't too shabby. I'd recommend getting the springs and dampers at the same time so you're not paying for labor twice. Other than that, it handles way better than it did stock.
I'm either going with Eibach Dampers to match up with the springs or go coilovers. yet.
The rear sway is very squeaky...I try not to think about it going over bumbs.

it's been awhile since someone posted here. so i guess i'll add some more info.
i remember reading good reviews about the Yokohama ES100 tires posted on different tire vending sites. most all of those reviews were by those who drive sport cars such as the Porsche Boxster S and the BMW E46 M3. this tire is supposed to be a Z-rated high performance summer tire.
now, i really haven't pushed my car much around corners since getting my current setup about six months back. after making a recent mountain run with some AZ and NSX drivers, i was not impressed by these tires at all. in fact, i was kinda embarassed that i was squealing and sliding around. this after having to go pretty much all out uphill while seeing in my rear view mirror an AWD beast in a modded 997 Turbo. i had to let him pass. they were only fair under spirited driving.
we had just started to make our way up Palomar Mtn. and it wasn't like my tires were hot. actually, the mountain air was cool which made well for brisk acceleration. so, just to let you know, i think these ES100s are all looks.
i'm going to start looking to pick up a set of some sort of Bridgestone, Michelin or possibly the Toyo T1R.

The following statement is made in good fun:
I found the optimum suspension.
I traded the CL T-S for a Mini Cooper S
Of course now I am researching run-flat options, but braking is not necessary for most corners, unless the wife is in the car.

Hi, guys,
About the Tein coilovers I hope you can answer a few Qs to add to this old but useful thread:
1) How can the Basics and SS coilovers ride as stock when they both have a spring rate of 390 lbs / inch up front, which happens to be exactly 50% greater spring rate than stock type-S?
2) I have read that some who have used the Tein Basics or SS coilovers have only lowered their car around an inch, but the spec say minimum 1.8" lowering?
3) What is the ride quality impact of the pillowball with a stock wheel and tire combo?
Thanks in advance...

the basics and ss are 7k front , 4k rear and are the closest to stock handling coilovers your gonna get. compared to ksports or megan racing which are over 10k spring rate.
people that say they lowered 1" on their tein's probably mean they're 1" from the highest ride height on their tein's.
the pillowball will help with better response but probably wont notice much difference with stock wheel/tire combo.

failhard.
Eibach Pro-kit springs
19x8 Ace Allures
+43 offset
235/35/19 General Exclaim UHP
A very basic starting setup. The Eibachs ride nice and hard, feels like I can feel every imperfection the road. Then again, I can't compare these with anything else, but it does feel like a sports car. Some people like it, the older demographic generally don't [ ie, parents ].
I got the Allures and Generals tossed on the car yesterday, so I can't give an extensive review, but so far the Generals ride nice and smooth, barely any road noise. The offset, as mentioned, is a little too low for our cars, but the only real danger goes to the rear fenders. Even with my fenders rolled, they'll rub if you hit a speed bump with heavy shit in the back and/or people in the rear seats. Scares the shit out of me. As for the fronts, no problem at all; I can turn the wheel all the way with no rubbing.

Am I okay with kokico blues and teins? Do I really Need to get coilovers? I hear that every time you adjust them you need to get an alignment done...
I'm looking more for basic fun spirited driving, so would I just be fine with after market struts and springs?

Hi, i'm new here. Bought an 03 CL-P for my wife. Looking to upgrade the suspension. It floats bad at 100mph. Was looking to buy an Eibach Pro-plus system. Do you guys think that would be wise $$$ spent? Limited budget.

The Ingalls kit I got for the rear was $160 or so. Thats not pricey, compared to the $800 the K-Sports cost.

help
question.........what are some price ranges here... i just got enough money to put into suspension for now. im debating if i should just wait and get air runners for an easy adjustment but since its so pricey i might just wanna test out coilovers and put the investment otherwise. Im looking for
1. not so bumpy ride
2. a nice drop
3. gonna add 18's or 19's in the future
also..what offset would you most likely go with for 1 2 3 ^
{in the future i would like my car to look like 'lipstuh's' damn..}
