Maybe we can get Night Rider to do one out here while theres still snow all over the place. I don't think he's dropped though. I know he has really dark tint and a grille but I think thats it. Still would be a cool shoot though with the right back drop.

That would definitely be cool to try. My car looks stock besides an M5 lip and pinstripes but maybe i'll give it a shot when i go snowboarding this winter

the thread has obviously slowed down as far as posts/pics being added. it looks like it still gets alot of hits. but, it's an old thread.

So I've heard I believe the color is Naples Gold Metallic...and it was brought down from Canada. I think there's one other person on the board with one and he's Canadian The only bad thing about having a Canadian car is that the climate control is in Celsius!! I do get daytime running lights though

You'd be even less of a fan of NGM's ugly cousin, PDG.

Did you find that CDN customs decal on the door jam? I'm still scratching my head over how your climate control is in Celsius yet the speedo's in MPH.

Here's the speedo:

And the climate control:

Is this the sticker you're looking for?

Proof of paint color:

My guess is that the people who brought it over wanted a reg. speedo, but didn't want to cough up the money for a Farenheit climate control

Yeah, that's it.

Back in the "Got Naples Gold Metallic" post, where you first put up your pics, on post #38 I asked about that import decal. I'm no expert but figuring your car and mine came off the assembly line together (mine's #122) they both must have been originally destined for Canada. The mystery, to me anyway, still is...what's the actual milage on your car if the speedo was swapped ? Don't get me wrong, I'm not hinting it's a high-miler. You said earlier you researched it well and were confident of it's history. What you do have is a pretty unique car with a Canadian coming back into the U.S.

When I first started looking into buying a CL-S, my first choice was looking down south for an '03 6-speed as only 50 or so made it to Canada but ended up finding my '02 right here in the neighbourhood.

I'm pretty confident in the mileage because I have the carfax and service records for the life of the car. Also, the mileage is not recorded ONLY on the odometer, so if the mileage had been changed, I could find out.

I'm not so sure about "mileage is not recorded ONLY on the odometer". I may be wrong but shy of dealer records I do believe that it is only recorded in the odometer and not the ECU like many other cars.

Hmm...well, that's kind of disappointing...but I'm not too worried. Judging from the carfax, condition of the car, all of its parts, and the fact that I have all service records....I'd be shocked if it had been turned back. In fact, it's only had 2 previous owners and I found out who both of them were. It was used as a local government car in Lewiston, ID (SMALL town, thus the low miles) and was bought by a Lewiston doctor at 6,000 miles. The mechanic knew her and said she "never drove it like it should be driven--FAST" Good news for me!
