My CLS6

I figured I'd start a thread here to help keep track of mods done to my car.

In late Febraury I purchased a 03 CL Type S 6 Speed with 109k on it and I've already done a few mods to it.

When I got the car:

First Mod was blackout the chrome trim:

Refinished my headlights and plast-dipped my grill:

Before

After

Intake and throttle body spacer:

I had some clear coat peeling so until I repaint it I decided to plasti-dip that to. I know some people aren't big fans of plasti-dip but for me it looks a lot better then a peeling paint job.

I've also plasti-dipped my rims and lowered the car with some Tein Springs and this is how the car sits right now:

I'll be replacing brake pads and rotors this weekend. The next mods will be window tint, headers, then T-belt with some lightweight pulleys.

I honestly liked it better when it was stock , but to each their own . Didn't that dealership want 11k?

Well as far as the plasti-dip goes it's very easily removed to go back to stock which will happen when I decide to get the car repainted. But the stock ride height in my opinion just didn't look right so that's staying. I got the car for $7900, maybe they had another one for sale too but I'm not sure.

Unfortunately I installed my intake at the same time that I put the spacer on and I also cleaned the inside of the TB so I can't exactly say what has made the most difference. There is a difference however, mostly on how smooth the car goes through the rpm's and a little more get up around 3k rpm and higher, atleast that's how it feels to me.

Here's a better pic of the trunk plasti-dipped:

Okay good to know, going to install my CAI or or icebox I might be getting with the p2r on my CLS6 so at least I'll see some difference with the combination of the two. Thanks

Getting the trunk painted anytime soon?

You'll feel a difference. I probably won't be getting the trunk painted for a little while. My next mods will be the one's I mentioned in the earlier post. Once all that is out of the way I'll start upgrading the appearance a little more.

They won't ship the kits to Cali, I think it's because of one of the chemicals that's used to thin it. I had to buy thinner that's allowed here and made my own mix. I used a Graco Gun to spray it.

Don't ruin it with plasti.. I have used is as a no-prep base for base/clear then remove it if I didn't like it or got tired of it. But major body panels look plain weird, roof isn't that bad but ,eeehh.

Just wanted to let you guys know I'll be putting this car up for sale this weekend.

A little info
118k miles
$6500 (there's a loan on the car)

I'll have more details in the for sale section once I take some updated pics.

Any questions PM me.

A set of 18" or 19" black wheels would set your car off lovely. 1" never made such a difference. Maybe a graphite pinstripe instead of a red one.
