BTW, it's a 2002 with only 23,770 miles and all service records (more now that I've had it for the weekend!)
LOVE it so far! My only concern is the transmission issue. Since it's a Canadian car, I'm afraid that it won't be covered it it dies on me. Dealer says it shouldn't be an issue (Acura dealer, not the dealer I bought it from) but I guess we'll see!

I've thought about the tint, but not sure how I feel about the drop. I bought it from a local dealer. The sticker price was 18,997 and I paid 14,640! Great deal if you ask me. 16,900 out-the-door for a great car. I've been living in it for the last few days! I did all kinds of research and everything I found said the Type S didn't come in gold...but I have a copy of the title and ALL service records, a clean carfax, etc.... so I'm thinking it's a Canadian thing?? Either way, it makes it unique, right? BTW...it's not "man", I'm female

I think that color is rockin with the parchment interior. I love the color combo.
hehee...a drop, tint, system...and a lot more can go on that car.

Wow, I knew the gold wasn't common, but I didn't know they were all that rare either. Lucky me! When I was looking at buying it, I was freaking out a little because every site I saw showed it in other colors but not the gold. I felt better about it after the carfax showed it being from BC.
I'm a little worried about tinting the windows because I'm not sure how it'll look with the gold?? Every other car I've had was tinted, but they were blue, purple, and silver. What do you guys think?

BTW...you can't tell from the pics, but the car is MINT. Everyone who's seen it said "I thought you were buying a used car? Is this a 2007??" It really does look brand new. When I called the dealership where it was owned to get the service records, the guy remembered the car specifically and told me it was driven by a "doctor who didn't drive it like it was meant to be driven - FAST!" So that's good news for me (and the tranny)

Actually...now that I think about it, my climate control is in degrees C instead of F, but my speedometer is in mph instead of km?? Does this mean that somebody changed out the speedometer before bringing it to the US??
#33
Greetings from a fellow 2002 NGM/Parchment CL-S owner.
I was just about to comment about the speedo being in MPH which would indicate it was originally sold in the U.S. then perhaps imported to Canada and now it's back state side. Now the temp displaying celsius makes the mystery a little more confusing. Perhaps there's an easy way to flip the display between 'merican and canuck but the speedo says to me your car is red, white and blue.

EDIT: BTW, you should post a pic of the engine. I'm still up in the air about it being a Type S. An engine pic should verify that.

nice clean looking car ! with such a low mileage, no wonder why it's like new ! congrats !
if your car is canadian and type S, your Vin should look like this :
19UYA427(x)2AH8xxxxx
*******^********** : 7 = canadian Type S 5AT
*************^**** : last 6 numbers to start with an 8 is canadian
for the speedo, i know around here they import a lot of US cars and there are companies that replace the speedo gauge to convert MPH->KMH
also, since i'm in canada and that i'm a tech at Acura, i can check your VIN and find the infos about :
date car delivered
dates and KM when car was serviced (really helpful info when buying used, because we found a guy selling a 98 civic with like 112 000km on the odo, but when requesting the Vin info with honda, the report showed a warranty claimed at 145 000km on the car (owner had a 6 years/160 000km extended warranty), so clearly shows that the odo was spun)
if you want to PM me your Vin, i'll request the report and give all the info to you, so you'll learn the real maintenance/warranty claimed history
i don't have access to US VINs and americans don't have access to canadian VINs.
oh i didn't know they made that color in Type S. in canada ALL CLs have ebony interior (except premium naples....and now type S naples as i can see)

It won't let me PM? But.. the last six of the VIN is 800121, so I guess it is Canadian. There's not a 7 in the # though... I just took it to my mechanic to get a once-over on it, so I can't take any engine pics.

The full VIN is 19UYA42612A800121
I just called my dealer and had them run it and it's definitely a Canadian car. I'm still confused about this mystery color thing though. At least we know that there's another person with a gold Type S (YVRCLR). I can post an engine pic tonight when I get the car back.
