I went to a small car show benefit fundraiser this weekend and a guy there took a couple of shots of my car and sent them to me.

I also met a custom shop owner who does all kinds of amazing custom fabrication, molding, paint, suspension and more. He did work on a number of cars at the show and his ride won multiple awards. I'm having him install my front camber kit this week, along with adjusting my coils slightly lower in the rear and maybe explore other ideas he may have. We talked some about the 'wide body' CL and I'll be stopping by his shop later this week to explore that and other ideas

No real updates, just having fun with pictures...wanted to see an up to date 'before & after', right next to each other. The wheel gap on stock suspension makes me want to puke

Looks great! Have you ever thought about vinyl wrapping the chrome trim around the windows black? I think it will match the wheels nicely.

Thanks StreetKA, I appreciate it. I think there are many better examples on this forum, but it's been good to learn from others and still come up with a unique look. I'm definitely loving the DT3's though, always get compliments and doubt I'll ever see another car with them in Texas. Thanks again civicdrvr for selling them to me!

Fox, its been mentioned and at first I was hesitant but after seeing a few recent examples, I may give it a try.

Nice clean looking CL. Those rims really show off your brake set-up nicely. Love the before and after pic you posted. Makes me realize how much work I have ahead of me. Thanks for the inspiration

Thanks, I appreciate it. Let us know if you have any questions as you progress. Many helpful members here to steer you straight.

Speaking of wheels, I just saw another set of RJ DT3's for sale in the BM. Black spokes, but polished barrel and don't appear to be staggered...but still look nice for those interested.

While those are nice, it made me glad mine are all black and not polished

I recently replaced the rear dampers on my coils and helped eliminate some knocking I was getting, as the strut wasn't rebounding like it should. Now the AMR coilovers are working great and I went ahead and lowered the rear another inch. This is for your civicdrvr

You both are lowered on amr's right? So there customer service is pretty good? I still never bought coil overs yet. I think that's why I get so much weight transfer when I drag race lol.

Those new pics you posted, that ride height is perfect. I love the way it looks. I will say it again I love those wheels also lol.

As for using plasti dip on the trim don't do it, it will fade. Civicdrivr I don't know if you remember when I did my front grill trim and rear emblems on my old 02 cl-p but it's almost two years since I've done it. It faded and doesn't look as good anymore. I highly recommend using 3m matte black vinyl. You will not regret it I promise!

Here's my thread from when I did it.

Yes overall the service has been good. In trying to diagnose the problem before getting new dampers, the shop I used called the owner, Andy, multiple times to get advice and troubleshooting tips. I bought them used, yet he was still willing to help out 100% and when troubleshooting didn't fix it, he cut me some nice deals to replace the old dampers with new ones. At the end of the day, I should have just bought new ones, but we got it worked out and Andy at AMR was more than helpful.

Also, his advertised price is very negotiable from what I hear, so give him a ring when you're ready and tell him we sent you

thanks for the link. that and the one on club lexus make it look pretty easy. I think the"A" would look good and match my wheels.

By any chance do you know how much a new set goes for? Well that's great to know his price is very negotiable!

Whatever way you decide on making the trim black, is going to set it off perfectly!

Edit: I see on the website he's asking $1,450.

I'd like to add, I like how well the wheels fit in the fenders without the fenders being all pushed out and tons of camber on the rear wheels, it looks very functional which I like.
Did you roll the rear bumper tab, like where its not fender anymore and it becomes bumper? Mine rubbing a little and someone said you could cut it out with a dremel or something but I'm wondering if maybe you can just smash it back with a hammer or how you did yours ?
Thanks for encouranging me to get 19's , and making most of azine jealous !

Thanks Mike, I did have the fenders rolled and also had the bumper tabs relocated and replaced the raised bolt heads with flat head bolts to minimize any rubbing. I still rub on very big bumps or if I go too fast over small ones, so it's not perfect, but I've been able to dial in the coilover stance to be low enough for my taste for looks, while still functional and without damaging the car or tires when I do rub. Right now it's just right, 99% of the time I don't rub, can still (barely though) clear speed bumps and the stance is to my liking.

I didn't do the work though, had a shop do it, but maybe civicdrvr or others can chime in on techniques used to relocate the bumper tab.

Thanks, I bought it in March '10 with 62,700 miles, so I've driven about 15K miles in 2 1/2 years. Luckily I work at home and only drive it for fun and to take my girls to school around the corner.

At this rate, it will take me about 4 more years to break 100K miles
