alright another evening of work gone by. as of now we have one side mounted. the epoxy is to temporarily hold the lip on while it gets lined up. the epoxy will be cleaned up and fiberglass will be laid behind the lip for the real support.

pretty much anyone can get by doing this with basic tools and about 100 dollars in supplies (not including the lip and tools) if you dont have these basic tools then you shouldnt be touching your car or anyone elses

kevin and i have never done any body work or any lip fabbing before, so we are essentially flying by the seat of our pants on this one. so far it has been WAY easier than we expected it to be.

Atleast you don't have to worry about scraping the front end going in and out of driveways.

"spider/scorpion" out in texas apparently equates to here in CA.

alright little update action. i remounted the first side we did and finally go the other one mounted. later today i will mount the center and post those pictures tomorrow.
took some time and measuring to insure that both sides stick out at the same angle and match in height.
go ole duct tape

center portion roughed up

both sides finally!

damnit! u beat me to it. luckily i got subtledreamer's lip kit =P. i don't think this will be a DIY for me since i gotta pop out dents, and repaint the car... rather do everything all at once. so much to do, so little time + money =P

today i sit at about 95% complete, mounted and filled! only some minor sanding on the lip is left to complete. tomorrow i will sand the rest and then primer followed with yet more sanding.

due to the rain the living room has become the workshop

approved!

Are you planning on doing the rest of the car with the tl kit?

And is your car keyed down the side?

ya i know ross would like the rest of the kit but i can't find it except new, and that's around another $900 for both sides and rear. everyone PM lipstuh and tell him to sell me his TL kit. (JK LIPSTUH. nice score on that kit!!)

note: if anyone knows of any piece of the TL kit for sale please let myself or cltypeslow know. even another front lip!

ya the car is keyed.

its pretty hard to find the whole kit, and i have been itching to do this so i just couldnt wait. if some sides and rear turn up ill get them, but for now this will do. i might just throw on some mudguards to make the side/rear profile look a little lower.

slow down speed racer; this is a project. can't always get everything at once. we would love to have the complete kit in hand but that could take up to two years to collect at a reasonable price. still it's a start

if anyone would like to see the rest get completed at a faster pace please send all donations to ME. i'll even throw in a nice DIY when it's complete. (i accept cash, checks, paypal, beer, gift certificates, food, chocolate, anything skateboard related, women, guitars or anything i can hock at the pawn shop) thank you!
